My husband and I are just finishing a private 6 day safari with Lion King Adventures, and it has been the experience of a lifetime. We had lunch twenty feet from an elephant. We watched a lion in the early morning who had just made a kill. A mama rhino and her baby walked right past our jeep, close enough that we could really see them. The Ngorongoro Crater views were stunning. The Serengeti sunrises and sunsets are something I will never forget. We saw every animal on our bucket list, and then some. We never felt rushed. We had time to just sit and watch each animal behave naturally in its own habitat and take it all in. Our guide, Benji, made this trip. If you book with Lion King, request Benji by name. He has been guiding for five years, and it shows in every single decision he makes. He was an expert driver on difficult terrain, and he did it without ever making us feel unsafe. He knew the parks. He knew the wildlife. He knew when to stop and when to move on. He had this incredible ability to spot animals while he was driving, including animals that were far away or nearly impossible to see. He would find something, stop the jeep, and point it out, and even then it would take us a minute to find what he was already looking at. There were many animals on this trip we never would have seen without him. He was not just following the pack either. He was often the one exploring the lesser-used roads and finding things first, and then sharing the sighting with other guides over the radio so they could find it too. One evening, after our game drive was supposed to be done, he spotted a lion in the rain and stopped anyway. Then a second lion showed up. We sat and watched them shake the water out of their manes. It is one of my favorite memories from the whole trip. Benji genuinely loves nature and this was contagious. He got as excited about the sightings as we did. He followed every park safety rule and always put the animals and our safety first. He is also part of a locally owned and operated company, which mattered to us. The whole Lion King team made booking easy. Before we ever left home, Pendo and Riziki walked us through the whole planning process. Communication was clear from start to finish. They handled every detail, including our airport transfers, and sent us helpful tips ahead of time so we knew what to expect. We told them we wanted midrange accommodations that fit our budget, and they found us places we would have been thrilled to pick ourselves. This trip was absolutely worth every penny. The safari alone was worth what we paid. We have not even gotten to the Zanzibar portion of our trip yet, and we already know we will book with Lion King again. My fiancé and I just finished an incredible 5-day safari with our guide Geofrey and Lion King Adventures. We unfortunately arrived a full day late due to a missed connection and Lion King and Geofrey made it seamless and easy to re-structure our itinerary. Geofrey knew all the places to go, was prompt and attentive, and made sure we saw the best spots for our interests. I would recommend Lion King Adventures, and especially our guide Geofrey, for your trip to Tanzania and for a safari. An experience that can’t be beat!

This was the most amazing experience. Booking with lion king was very easy and they are very responsive. They completely customized our itinerary to our wants. One of the highlights of this trip was our guide Leonard. Leonard is the nicest and most respectful guide. He is very knowledgeable of all the landscapes and the animals. It is very apparent that he loves and respects the animals deeply. Leonard’s ability to spot animals was one of the most impressive skills I have seen. We easily saw every animal we told him we wanted to see. We saw the big 5 serval times! I will be recommending Leonard and Lion King Adventures to everyone I know.

We spent six days on safari with Lion King Adventures, visiting Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti and Lake Manyara, and it honestly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime trip. It had a really nice balance of adventure and downtime, and we learned so much along the way. Our guides, Freddy and Haruni, were fantastic—super knowledgeable, easygoing and always happy to adjust things to make the experience better for us. One moment that really stood out, outside of the game drives, was when they took us through a local market. It gave us a small but meaningful glimpse into everyday life there, and we really appreciated being able to see that side of things. We were lucky enough to spot the Big Five, along with so many other animals. Seeing leopards and cheetahs up close was especially memorable. Freddy and Haruni shared so much about the wildlife, the landscape and the local culture, which made everything feel even more special. The accommodation and food were great throughout, and everything was well organised without ever feeling too rigid. Overall, it was an incredible experience and we’d definitely recommend Lion King Adventures to anyone thinking about a safari in Tanzania. Truly unforgettable.

We had a really great experience with Lion King and our tour guide Macha! The parks were amazing, we saw lots of wildlife and Macha went out of his way to make sure we saw everything! Macha has a lot of experience and knew a lot about the parks. He taught us a lot about the animals as well. He also didn’t rush us through anything, we were able to observe all the wildlife at a good pace. He took us to all different parts of Serengeti - we wanted to see the Great migration and Macha even made a long drive to the western side of the park for it. Would highly highly recommend Macha! Lion King booked us a balloon safari experience, crater rim hike, and treetop walks. Those were all great! We were able to see lots of big herds and several prides of lions from our sunrise balloon safari and it was totally worth it! Florida and Jovitha were both really great as well with making our itinerary and booking the trip! All the accommodations Lion King booked for us were amazing! The food was amazing as well! As vegetarians, the lunches sometimes felt slightly heavy with more rice based options but overall, the food was really great! Definitely recommend Lion King and Macha if you are looking to book a Tanzania safari trip!

Overall this tour and trip was a 10 out of 5! Lion King and our guide Macha went out of their way for us and fully exceeded our expectations. This was our (my wife and I) second ever safari in Africa and this felt totally different than the last one we did. The tour, accomodations, food, and parks were well worth the price and much more. I'll break these down further: Booking / Tour Company Booking with Lion King was incredibly easy. They were always responsive and answered all of our questions. Booking with them was painless. Up until the start of our tour they were communicative and flexible with our plans. They kept us up to date and gave us a detailed itinerary of what to expect. Their tour vehicles are amazing as well, very comfortable, clean, and well maintained. The airport pick up and drop off was also very smooth. I highly recommend using this tour company for a Tanzanian Safari. Guide Our guide Macha was incredible. He was always punctual and responsive to our needs. He made us feel right at home, and spending all day in the jeep with him was always fun. He was very knowledgeable about the parks, wildlife, and geopolitical topics. He also had a keen site and knew exactly where to find certain animals. He knew all the roads by heart, and even in the middle of nowhere he could tell us exactly where we were. He always ensured we had the best view and never rushed us. He often took the path less traveled making it feel like we had our own private safari park. He also knew the best locations to go to depending on the day, time, and what he has heard from others. He was always well informed. We learned a lot from him! He also always kept us updated with the plans for the day. His jeep was always clean, and always ensured we had enough food and water. He was also an excellent driver, even on the roughest roads we felt safe and secure. Besides being a professional he was also very personable. He was a cool guy to talk to, and it felt like we were traveling with a long time friend. He went out of his way for us, often driving from opposite ends of the park in one day just to ensure we had the best experience. You can never guarantee sightings on a safari but we saw everything we came for and more because of Macha. I can't thank or recommend Macha enough, he was AWESOME! Hotels / Food All of the hotels and accomodations we stayed at were of very high quality. The staff were almost too hospitable and made us feel very welcomed. The food was also good and there were good options for vegetarians for all 3 meals. The lunch on the safaris was also good, but sometimes a bit heavy with rice and lentils. The rooms were very nice and comfortable, and most had an incredible view. They were also clean and bug free. WiFi was a bit spotty at some locations, but often it was not too much of an issue. Parks We visited 4 parks over 7 days (Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Lake Manyara). Each one was very different than the others, and I highly recommend you to visit them all. The facilities in the parks were also immaculate. The parks truly feel like you are out in the middle of nowhere, truly in nature. Often you won't see a single other car either. There is so much to see and you will never tire of watching the animals. Trust your guide and you will have a great time. Excursions We did all of the excursions offered, 2 guided walks and a hot air balloon safari. The walks were short and very easy, they were a nice break from being in the car. We saw a lot of different plants and birds, and many big animals from a far. Definitely worth the price if you have the time. The hot air balloon ride was a very unique experience. We traveled for over an hour in the air and saw so much wildlife. The birds eye view made it all worth the price. It is on the more expensive side, but if you have the funds it is so worth it!

They made the Safari truly exceptional and we learnt so much from them about the animals and the culture. Every part of the tour was amazing, and they went above and beyond to answer our questions and any requests. Fredy and Haruni had a wealth of knowledge about the animals and the tribes, and were extremely experienced and trustworthy. By the end of the trip they felt like family. We will miss you Fredy and Haruni!!!!

We recently returned from an unforgettable 6-day safari in Tanzania, organized by Lion King Adventures, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Our group consisted of my family and my sister’s family, and from start to finish, the agency was absolutely wonderful. ​The entire team was attentive, polite, and extremely thoughtful, ensuring all of our needs were met throughout the journey. We had an amazing experience. Sharani was a friendly transport driver and Amani was a fantastic guide. Whenever he heard of an animal sighting on the radio, Amani got us there quickly. We saw all five of the Big 5! The camps and lodges were great. The food was amazing and the staff were very kind.
