Private 2-Day Luxor Highlights Tour

Visit Luxor to see the historical egypt, far away from the Sphinx and Pyramids. Valley of kings, Temple of Hadschepsut, Colosses of Memnon and a ballontrip into the sunrise. These highlights are "must do's" if you are travelling to egypt.

We had a fabulous tour with our guide Sabar - he was so knowledgable, passionate, and eager to teach us about this fascinating civilisation, and a genuinely nice person. We especially appreciated how Sabar ensured we were well hydrated and always found shady spots to explain the various sites. Our airport pickup was also smooth and our driver supporting Sabar was punctual and very professional. Setting up the tour directly with Luxor Travels was easy and Ragab was very quick to respond on email and WhatsApp. Would highly recommend this tour company to others coming to Luxor. Thank you!

The 1st day (Valley of the Kings, etc) was the worst. The guide showed us a half of what we paid for. We were supposed to have 5-6 h tour, but we had 3 hour tour. 1 hour of which was just a ride to and from hotel. Although the car was clean and cool. The guide didn’t understand our questions or didn’t want to answer them. The 2nd day was much better. The guide was pleasant, knowledgeable and accommodating. Unfortunately the car was hot every time we got in. Although it was clean.

The trip was amazing! The guide showed us around through all the areas and ensured to assist us with information about each stop of our trip. Overall, we can highly recommend this tour.

Nice relaxed way to see the sites around Luxor split over 2 days, good way to avoid the sun exposure by starting early on each day. Khalid was a great knowledgeable guide, giving us all the information around the sites, and making sure we had enough time around the sites on our own. Highlights were Karnak and the valley of the tombs

We booked this tour pretty last minute. Ragab met us after the extra hot air balloon sunrise experience and connected us to our tour guide, Ahmed Awad, and the driver, Tarek. We had breakfast and started our two day tour. They were fantastic, honest, helpful, friendly, and informative. We didn't feel rushed and he explained the plan for the day and was willing to add some things to the tour or not go to some things on the tour. We really enjoyed spending our day with Ahmed and Tarek and would definitely recommend requesting them if possible. Ahmed not only speaks English fluently, he also speaks German and of course Arabic.

Raj was absolutely amazing! His knowledge of the temples, tombs and strong understanding of hieroglyphics made our trip beyond incredible. He took his time to explain everything and answer all of our questions. He was professional, yet extremely personable and went out of his way to make sure we were both comfortable and had a great time in Luxor. His genuine love and excitement for sharing the knowledge was palpable. We could not have asked for a better guide!

We arranged tours of both east and west sides of the Nile in Luxor through Luxor Travels. This is normally a two-day tour but we managed it all in one long day by staying two nights in a Luxor hotel instead of a single night. It also allowed us to have a 7:00am pickup at Luxor hotels which allowed us to see the tombs in the Valley of the Kings before all the tour buses arrived from the coast. The tombs are a fantastic sight – the highlight of all our days in Egypt - and highly recommend that they be seen in the early morning when not crowded. The regular entry ticket allows visits to 3 of the tombs. We added Seti I and Ramses VI tombs. These two tombs are spectacular, and because of the additional entry cost, very few others competing for viewing with you. We did the other sites on the west bank in the early afternoon, and then the temples of Karnak and Luxor on the east bank late afternoon and early evening. The Temple of Luxor is open late into the evening, and a tour after sunset when the structures are lit with floodlights is very nice. Ragab, the owner of Luxor Tours, was very helpful in planning our itinerary, making suggestions on not only where to visit, but also his advice on timing and order. We were especially pleased by his flexibility. We had to rebook to a different month two days prior to planned arrival. No problem. And we sent him a message late in evening the night before the Luxor part of our tour to add several venues and several hours to our schedule the next day. Again, no problem. Our guide was Khalid for the full 12 hours on both banks. We never felt rushed. With the extra hours, it was a very relaxed pace with plenty of time for Khalid to do deep into history and details. He did an outstanding job of educating us on what we were seeing, and why it was important. Excellent English, very extensive knowledge from many years of experience, and a strong passion for what he does. We had selected Luxor Travels primarily due to the very positive experiences with his guides that others had written on TripAdvisor. We do a lot of traveling and have had many good guides across the years. Khalid is easily among the best we have ever had the fortune to spend a day with. Luxor and the Valley of Kings are not to be missed. Ragab and Khalid made our tour there an unforgettable memory.

Khalid, has a passion for is work as a guide and it certainly comes through. Very accommodation, and know the best spots to take photos. There is a lot of information to take in and he will cater his knowledge based on how much you wish to take in.

I did the 2 day tour. It was fairly relaxed and we were not in any rush. I think if I'd tried to squeeze both the west and east sides of luxor in a day it would have felt rather rushed. The guide, Khalid Eltayeb, was really knowledgeable. I think it was definitely better to do the sites with a guide as there aren't many signs or notice boards. You got a lot more out of it when there is someone who can explain exactly what you are looking at.
