The ruins of Pompeii are a vast archaeological site in the southern Campania region, near the coast of the Gulf of Naples. Once a thriving and sophisticated Roman city, Pompeii was buried under meters of ash and pumice after the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. The preserved site features remain of excavated streets and houses that visitors can freely explore.
The Civil Forum represents the center of the daily life of the city, all the main public buildings for the administration of the city and justice, for the management of business, for commercial activities, such as markets, overlook it, in addition to the main places of city worship.
The Temple of Jupiter dominates the northern side of the Forum. With the three cult statues of Jupiter, Juno and Minerva, which imitated those of the Capitolium in Rome, placed on a high base, so as to make them visible to those passing through the Forum square.
Via dell'Abbondanza is one of the main streets of the ancient city of Pompeii, in Campania, which connected the Forum with the Amphitheatre.
The Macellum consists of a tuff Quadri-porticus with a hall for worship in an elevated position on the eastern side, in line with the entrance. The Macellum of Pompeii was nothing more than the city market where people could buy food.
The brothel of Pompeii, with its erotic paintings. The prostitutes in the brothel were mostly Greek and Oriental slaves.
The Stabian Baths are an ancient Roman bathing complex in Pompeii, Italy, the oldest and the largest of the five public baths in the city.
In the Large Theatre they represented comedies and tragedies of Greek-Roman tradition. The theatre was the first large public building completely freed from the deposits of the eruption.

This tour Pompeii was a ton of fun for me and my wife. We had an amazing time visiting the ruins and the mountain itself. Our guide was very kind and helpful and made the whole learning experience a great time. The only thing that my wife and I had a slight issue with was the winery tour. It was a nice winery in itself, but what was lacking was the food amount for lunch. We had been walking around all time and had quite an appetite by lunch. We were expecting a bigger lunch, but all we got was a few pieces of bread with toppings, some pasta, and a slice of cake. It didn’t seem like much so we were left a little hungry. The overall experience was amazing, but it would have the five star review if next time we were able to get more food from the winery.
We had so much fun over the day. Lunch was delicious. Our tour guys were all so friendly and educational. We had a wonderful time.
There is a lot to see at Pompeii but it is over crowded with to many tour groups at once and there is no directional flow. Everyone is walking into each other
The tour was well coordinated and allowed enough time to explore both sites. The vineyard for lunch is a huge plus!
The guide Giussy M and driver Francesco were great. The lunch was even better then expected and the guide at the Pompeii ruins really knew his stuff.
This experience was top notch! We did so much from getting a great tour of the Pompeii ruins with a very knowledgeable guide, to a wonderful lunch and wine tasting and great climb of mt Vesuvius. Would highly recommended!

It is a complete experience and actually, it offers a bit more with the extra trials of food and drink. I only suggest having 2 meeting points in Sorrento and maybe an icebreaker or activity to meet the participants, especially for solo travelers.

Cannot say enough about Rosa! Her assistance with my many questions and requests helped make our trip so memorable. Our tour of Pompeii started with a private pickup at our villa in Praiano. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, and patient, as some of our family members wondered off. Our tour and lunch at Le Cantine del Vesuvio was delicious and fun filled. Great time had by all. We ended the day with a hike to the rim of Mt. Vesuvius. Spectacular views! Our driver for the day, Fernando (Nando), was absolutely amazing! He was very friendly, extremely helpful and always professional. Never did we feel like just a customer with him, he was one of us. Please pass along our gratitude to him. I will definitely recommend your services to anyone traveling to Italy.

Our experience with company Headout was extremely disappointing and caused significant damage to two full days of our trip. On the first day, during the scheduled tour, we and another family were left behind in Herculaneum for over an hour, without proper assistance. We were traveling with a child, without access to food, water, or phone charging facilities. As a result of this serious failure, we completely missed the visit to Pompeii, a core part of the tour we had purchased. Following this incident, the company itself offered to reschedule the Pompeii tour for the next day, an option that we immediately accepted, requesting the new tickets right away. Trusting this solution, we rearranged our entire itinerary and postponed our trip to Rome solely to take part in the rescheduled tour. However, on the following day, the company did not show up at the meeting point at all. We arrived on time and waited for over 30 minutes, with no representative present and no communication. When we contacted the company, we were told—after a brief apology—that there were no available spots, despite the tour having been offered and accepted the day before. As a result, two days of our trip were completely ruined due to the company’s operational failures. We request an immediate refund, and we were informed that it will take 5 to 7 business days, meaning after our trip has already ended, which only adds to the frustration. This reflects a complete lack of organization, communication, and respect for customers, particularly families traveling internationally with limited time and careful planning. We do not recommend this company, and we hope this review helps other travelers avoid a similar experience.
The experience started well with a pick up at hotel to Pompeii. The tour guide was very good, informative and friendly. Unfortunately she rushed out after an hour and a half. Shortly after the driver came took us to Mt Vesuvius drop us off to fend for ourselves without any instructions or narrative. We received an hour and a half of guidance out of seven hour tour. Not sure why the tour guide did not continue with us. We will try and get a refund from Viator.
