The Tour will start with pick up at your hotel to take you at Poas Volcano, as we ascend the mountain, we will see coffee plantations as well as fern, flower and strawberry farms along the way, creating a beautiful array of colors and visuals. There is a noticeable change in temperature and vegetation, preparing us for the pleasure of the exuberant cloud forest of the Poas Volcano. The Poás Volcano, is an active 2,708-metre (8,885 ft) stratovolcano. The crater of the volcano is over a mile across and 1050 feet deep. It has erupted 40 times since 1828, including April, 2017. At the Volcano we will have time to enjoy the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles.

Great experience! Got picked up at 8am. Went to coffee farm first, then volcano/ lake and finished at waterfall. Had a delicious and filling lunch. Charlie our guide was great.

I had an amazing time on the Coffee Volcano and Waterfall Tour! The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, from the beautiful coffee plantation to the stunning waterfall views. The experience was well organized, informative, and a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. A special thank you to our guide, Ricardo, who was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout the entire tour. Great, with our guide Ricardo we visited a coffee plantation, then we went to see the Poás volcano, and then the waterfalls. Then the local restaurant was very good and ended with a presentation by Katherine, who showed us how coffee is made from its harvest, culminating in a coffee tasting. The guide and driver Ricardo is very pleasant, and Katherine is the same. Pura Vida,

Super great tour, well worth it! The coffee farm and the process of a cup of coffee were and eye opening, the volcano was expectacular, and the water fall beautiful. Our tour guide Charly was very knowledgeable, and fun

I simply loved the day, it was like a trip with friends where we started the day without knowing each other and ended up exchanging numbers, stories and pictures. Ricky was just great, very positive and concerned if we were all having a good time. I loved all the hiking and I feel like I am a coffee expert now 😅

I really liked the tour. It was a very good experience; we were lucky to see the craters of both volcanoes, had good weather, and found the coffee-making process super interesting. A special shout-out to the guide Charly; he was very kind, attentive, and explained many things to us. A large part of why the tour was so good was due to his willingness and professionalism.

Charly was an amazing tour guide and the tour was fantastic from start to finish. The day began at a coffee plantation where we learned how coffee is grown, hand-harvested, processed, and brewed in Costa Rica. Charly explained everything from peaberry beans and mucilage to parchment, green beans, and the traditional Café chorreado brewing method. This was really a two-part experience — the plantation tour first, followed later by the coffee process itself after an authentic Costa Rican lunch. In between, we visited Poás Volcano where Charly made sure we had great opportunities for photos of the active volcano and lagoon, before heading to La Paz Waterfall where we could stand beneath the waterfall itself. It’s a long day, and we hit some heavy traffic from a local strawberry festival in the mountains which delayed us about 45 minutes, but overall it was an authentic, informative, and memorable experience that I highly recommend.
