Itinerary
Koper, an important European port and the largest city of the Slovene Coast. Your guide will pick you up at the agreed starting point in Koper, Slovenia - hotel, cruise terminal, bus station, train station etc. (please contact us after the booking so the appropriate arrangements can be made).
Piran is one of the oldest and most picturesque towns in Slovenia, rich in history and culture. Nearly 500 years of Venetian influence have given it a unique and timeless charm. Its cultural heritage is not confined to museums - architectural and artistic gems are part of everyday life and can be seen at every turn, from the elegant main square to the narrow winding streets and seaside promenade.
Giuseppe Tartini, the world-famous composer and violinist born and raised in Piran, left a lasting mark on the town. His bronze statue now stands proudly in the main square, alongside Tartini’s house, where visitors can admire one of his violins. Tartini Square is surrounded by impressive buildings, including the richly decorated Municipal Palace, Tartini Theatre, Maritime Museum, Aquarium, Marine Biological Station, Baroque House, and Apollonio Palace. Overlooking the town from the hilltop is the Church of Saint George, the largest and most significant church in Piran, offering stunning views of the sea and coastline. The town’s medieval wall, narrow winding streets, fishermen’s nets, and compact houses climbing the hillside all combine with the shimmering Adriatic to create the feeling of stepping into a painting.
We will also enjoy a panoramic drive through Izola, a picturesque seaside town known for its rich fishing heritage, scenic coastline, and charming old town.
We will also pass by Portorož, which literally means 'Port of Roses' - a well-known coastal resort famous for its hotels, casinos, and sandy beaches. Nearby lie the Sečovlje salt pans, where salt is still harvested from the sea using traditional methods that date back centuries.

We had Dean for our tour from a cruise ship. He met us at the Port & drove us along the beautiful coast to Piran. We had a guided tour with lots of information, & then he took us to a small local restaurant for local snacks & wine. We also had some free time before heading back to Koper. Great tour & I would recommend it.
Ernest is an amazing guide with an amazing story. Very knowledgeable and made the entire trip worthwhile.
Our guide, Dean, was just fabulous. So knowledgeable and proud of his country. Piran and coastal towns were beautiful and because of Dean we look forward to coming back and enjoying more of Slovenia.
Ernie was very knowledgeable and accommodating . Also , he had a good sense of humor dealing with with our questions .
Our tour guide was great! He took us to see Piran, a beautiful old city! The tour included the curch, the squre& the harbour. We had lunch and wine tasting in a quaint cafe. It was apparent that he loves the city.of Piran. A great tour! Thank you!
Dean was a knowledgeable tour guide. We learned a lot about the local areas. He, also took us to a local sidewalk cafe to taste locals wines and food. Thank you to Dean for making it a pleasant experience. Trish Stahl
We were staying in Trieste, but our guide came there to pick us up. We had a wonderful tour. We had beautiful and interesting stops along the way. We discussed the salt pans, enjoyed the towns, stopped for a coffee, and had a little time for shopping. Our guide, Nermin, was very knowledgable and friendly. He was also very attentive to how far my mom could walk before we needed a little break. Once in Koper, we visited the company's office, where they had wine, bread, olive oils cheeses and cured meats for us to try. The samples were hearty and delicious. They also had a few small items for sale. They did not push us to buy those items, but when we asked about them, they indicated some people have a tour and no extra time for shopping, so they like to offer a few small souvenirs. I thought this was an awesome idea. It was really an excellent tour and I'd highly recommend booking with Koper Trips.
The guide gave very little dialogue about the area. With other guides we learn a lot, such as history, culture, geography and more. While the coast line was very attractive and worth seeing, The guide was a big disappointment.
Guide was so friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Our group really enjoyed the tour of salt fields and small towns. Coffee break by the beach was fabulous.
We were picked up by DeJan right outside the port gates in Koper and we were only 7 people on this tour in a very nice and clean van with AC which was much appreciated. We traveled on roads less traveled through Izola, Portoroz and spent some time in Piran with an hour free time before meeting with DeJan again. He told us a lot of little details about the area that you won't hear from a person not living there and we also drove on roads through olive groves and vineyards which was a very nice touch. Slovenia is beautiful and green with clear and inviting ocean water. We ended the tour with a wine and olive oil tasting at the tour group's office in Koper after a short tour through the city. It was nice to not just visit the port city but also some surrounding towns which gave a much better feel for the country in general. I definitely highly recommend this tour.
