The Hop-On Hop-Off Big Bus Tour, operated by Philadelphia Trolley Works, is one of the best ways to get to know Philadelphia and see all the top sights. Each double-decker bus has live narration by a fully-trained, friendly Philly guide, so you’ll learn all about the city’s history, culture, popular shopping and dining spots (like where to get the best, authentic Philly cheesesteak), and more while the guide directs your attention to famous landmarks along the way – making sure you see it all. Choose to sit in covered seats on the first level, or venture to the second level for open-air seating and a bird’s-eye-view of the streets below. Your ticket lets you ride one comprehensive loop, the Blue route, to see the best of Philadelphia in one tour. You’ll have the flexibility to hop-on or off at any of the 25+ included stops along the route so you can explore an area by foot or visit popular attractions. The full length of the tour is 90-minutes if you stay on the bus for the full tour loop. Or, take your time and enjoy the flexibility to hop on and off to explore the stops as many times as you want—buses run frequently with departures from 5th and Market streets, near East Corner every 15-20 minutes, so you’ll never have to wait long at the stops when you want to hop back on and continue your tour.
Explore the American criminal justice system, from some of its darker days to present, at the Eastern State Penitentiary – an official National Historic Landmark and one of the most historic and most visited buildings in Pennsylvania. Designed to inspire penitence and regret in the hearts of criminals through “confinement in solitude with labor,” Eastern State Penitentiary is one of the most important historic institutions in Pennsylvania. It’s often credited with helping to pave the way for reform of the judicial system in the US using methods of isolation and reflection rather than capital punishment and physical abuse. The building is regarded as an architectural marvel. The original seven cell blocks, spread like spokes of a wheel, had running water and central heat before even the White House. Its beautifully designed vaulted ceilings, sky-lit cells, and castle-like walls stand in stark contrast to the purpose of many of its elements, including cell blocks, solitary punishment cells, and Death Row. Now, no longer an active penitentiary, the prison stands in haunting ruin with crumbling cell blocks, empty guard towers, and various states of neglect.
Visit the only aquarium in the world where you can see hippos, the largest collection of sharks on the East Coast, the only aquarium in the US where you can see a great hammerhead shark, and one of the most popular attractions in Philadelphia, the Adventure Aquarium. You’ll get to explore seven unique touch exhibits where you can get up close and personal with sharks, stingrays, and take your time exploring the aquarium’s 14 interactive and immersive exhibits. Every day the aquarium provides enriching experiences for visitors, like the African Penguin Feedings, Hippo Bedtime, Hippo Feeding, Meet the Divers, Up Close Animal Experiences, and more. Check the daily schedule to see when things are happening during your visit. Be sure to check out what’s playing at the Adventure Aquarium’s 3D Theater to explore deep-sea topics even more in a fully immersive, thrilling experience for the whole family.

It’s a national headquarters for civic education and America’s town hall. Main exhibits include three attractions: Freedom Rising, The Story of We the People, and the iconic Signers’ Hall. In addition to the main exhibits, the museum hosts traveling exhibits throughout the year that offer fresh perspectives on the Constitution.

Great experience! Easy booking. Easy onboarding the buses. Easy navigating the city and choosing which stops we wanted. Easy entrance to attractions/museums/tours we were interested in!
Hello There, This made our day. We are so grateful for your kind words. Thanks for sharing your review with us and the community. We hope to serve you again in the future. Regards, Go City
Great deal. Lots of activities. Just remember that you can only redeem once. Including the transportation 😀. But worth it overall for multi days. I will buy again anytime.

This is a bad deal you only get 1 day in the bus with multiple day tickets. You have to pay for transportation to get to the sites many of the sites are no charge to begin with. The bus schedule is poor when you get to the end of the line there is not another bus for 30 minutes . If it is a rainy day you have to ride downstairs which was packed the tour guide broke the microphone had a meltdown and ended up giving a very sketchy tour. We got exactly zero return on our very expensive tour. The liberty bell is free, the Betsy Ross home is free , you needed reservations to see constitution hall which is free , liberty hall free, etc. So for over $100 pp we got little yes a couple of the museums charge but we could have paid for those and saved a lot of money. The bus people we spoke with on the 2nd day when we discovered our tickets were only good for 1 day said they get a lot of complaints about how unclear it is when you purchase a multi day ticket that the bus transportation is not included. Viator your customer deserve better .

There was so much to choose from. Plan your day ahead of time. Some things required reservations and some were closed on certain days. So dobyour homework before you get here. We're 68 and 70 and we're a bit optimistic on what we could do in 1 day.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're delighted you found so much to choose from! Planning ahead can really help you make the most of your time, especially as some attractions require reservations. Our website and app provide all the details you need to help plan your perfect adventure. We hope you had a wonderful time exploring with Go City and created some great memories along the way!
This was an excellent purchase. My son and I were able to visit the Adventure Aquarium, the battleship next door, Legoland and Longwood Gardens for less than the cost of visiting the aquarium alone. What a great deal; highly recommend!
Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We’re so glad to hear that you and your son had such a great experience, while getting great value from your purchase. It’s fantastic to know you found it such a good deal and would highly recommend it. We hope to welcome you again on another Go City adventure soon!
The Go City Pass is easy to use and very affordable. It is great to be able to use our pass and visit different locations. There are so many places to visit in Philadelphia and it takes the worry out about picking the best ones because they were all included. We had a 3 day pass. On Day 1 we started at Betsy Ross House, Took a Revolution and Founding Fathers Tour, picked up our Solve A Mystery: The Kidnapping by Independence Hall adventure then finished the night with Dark Philly Adult Night Tour. Day 2 included the Big Bus Hop On Hop Off Pass, a tour of Eastern State Penitentiary, Independence Seaport Museum, and National Liberty Museum. On Day 3 we started at the National Constitution Center, picked up our Phlash Bus pass and went to Philadelphia Museum of Art. (We could have spent a lot more time at the Museum of Art but had to leave to catch our flight home. But, because we had a Go City Pass we were able enter and at least see a portion of the exhibits. The pass allows you to visit an attraction and not feel you have to stay long enough to get the value of the typical admission price.)
Thank you so much for sharing such a detailed review! We’re really pleased to hear you found Go City easy to use and great value, and that it helped you explore so many incredible attractions across Philadelphia. It sounds like you made the most of your 3-day pass, from historic tours and immersive experiences to museums and sightseeing across the city. We’re especially glad to hear the flexibility of the pass meant you could still enjoy places like the Philadelphia Museum of Art, even with limited time before your flight, without feeling pressured to stay longer than you wanted. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your itinerary and experience — it’s great to hear it helped make your trip so enjoyable and stress-fre
We loved our Go City pass. We knew which activities we wanted to visit and so after doing the math we determined this was a great value for us. The pass was super easy to use as well.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re really pleased to hear you enjoyed your pass and found it good value after planning your activities. It’s great that you were able to map everything out in advance and make the most of your time. We’re also glad it was easy for you to use throughout your trip.We hope to be part of your next adventure.
I bought the two-day pass, a great value. Most Philadelphia attractions cost $25-$30 per person. On the first day, I went to Franklin Institute, Barnes Foundation, Rodin Museum, Art Museum, and Eastern State Penitentiary. On the second day, I went to Betsy Ross House, Christchurch Burial Grounds, National Liberty Museum, Museum of the American Revolution, and went on the Revolutionary & Founding Fathers Tour and the Ghost Tour!
Thanks so much for sharing your experience! We’re really glad to hear that Go City felt like great value and that you were able to fit in so many of Philadelphia’s top spots. It sounds like you made the most of your visit—covering highlights. We love hearing how guests combine museums, historic sites, and tours to get the full Philadelphia experience. Thanks again for choosing Go City, and we hope to see you exploring another city with us soon!
