Itinerary
Begin your experience of exploring Península Valdés as soon as your cruise ship docks in Puerto Madryn. Meet us and board a comfortable-modern vehicle. Enjoy a brief tour of the city to learn about its history while heading to the reserve.
Start the adventure accompanied by a tour guide who will help us interpret the environment. Keep an aye out, the reserve enclose unique species such as Guanacos (Lamas), Patagonia Rabbit, Lesser Rhea, Grey Wolf, among others.
Drive to the inmense Peninsula, attached to the continente by a strip of land known as Ameghino Isthmus. At some points you will se the two gulf Nuevo and San José simultaneously and get views of the typical Patagonian landscape. Make your first stop at the Carlos Ameghino Isthmus Visitor Center, where you will see the small exhibit of local flora and fauna.
Continue to Caleta Valdes along a barren gravel road to marvel at the Magellanic Penguins colony. This inlet’s exceptional value is due to its biodiversity. Keep an eye out for Orcas, if you are lucky you sight spot them patrolling these coasts in pods. Next stop, Punta Cantor. Here, the trails and viewpoints allow you to be amazed by colonies of elephant seals and sea lions.
As we travel along the gravel roads, the safari continues overland. Be sure to scan the horizon; among the bushes, you might sight guanacos, choiques, and maras crossing the Patagonian steppe.
Returning, you will be taken to Punta Piramide to watch a sea lion colony from the top of the cliffs. Thanks to the location, you will admire one of the most beautiful landscapes of the area. After a day full of nature in its purest form, return to Puerto Madryn and get dropped off outside the pier on time.

Regardless of which vendor you go with for this tour it’s a long ride more than 2 hours to the coast. The terrain is not real scenic but we did see many llamas. We spent too much time over 2 hours on the coast initially where we seen very few sea lions, one dead penguin and no orcas. There was an issue with some of the passengers who had different itinerary s. We did not go to Punta Norte ( which a placard where we were said the best airings for Orcas were there) which was on there’s but not our. The driver was great along with the Diego the guide who was very informative, congenial and answered many questions but could use a little improvement on his English skills . We also had a flat tire on way back to ship which Diego and driver had the skill set to change. Fortunately for us since this was not a ship tour. The seats in the van were a little tight in the mini bus( Mercedes Benz 2 on one side of aisle and one on the other. If we came back we would not take this tour again with anyone but would recommend someone else if you are interested in seeing this area.
Hello Jeff: Good afternoon, we are very sorry for your experience on the excursion. We will take note of all your comments to improve our service and better inform our customers about the type of excursions we offer. Thank you for visiting us. Marcelo & Dos Oceanos Team
I'd give the tour Five Stars for the quality of the guide and meet-up experience. However, we endured five hours on mostly bumpy dirt roads to see two penguins and some sea lions from a distance and for a short time. Even if there had been more wildlife I don't think the hours on the bus is worth what you see. Back on our ship we heard of other experiences people had that were shorter and included more up close wildlife. Look at boat excursions directly from the port.
Hello Richard, we are sorry that it did not meet your expectations. Even so, the tour is based on visiting and appreciating a protected nature reserve recognized by UNESCO for the preservation of wildlife in its natural state. The animals are viewed from a distance to ensure that their habitat and behavior are not affected, allowing us to be spectators and respect their ecosystem. This is a tour we do every day, and each experience is unique. We hope you can come back soon and see it with new eyes. We were delighted to have you, and we hope you enjoy the rest of your trip. Best regards, Dos Oceanos Team
Overall not bad There were few penguins , it might be good to state that in late February there are fewer Did not get very close to elephant seals , needed binoculars. We were within 10 minutes of our ship last board time , fortunately many ship tours were late also
Hello Valentina & Gary! Thank you very much for your comment! There are few penguins at the Valdés Peninsula penguin colony, as it is a small colony. Our excursions are designed to take cruise ship schedules into account and always arrive on time. We hope you enjoyed your experience and we look forward to seeing you again soon so you can continue exploring our Patagonia! Continue enjoying your trip. Best regards, Bianca

Hello Wolfgang! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed our services! Thank you very much for choosing us and for visiting Peninsula Valdes. We hope to welcome you back very soon. Thank you for placing your trust in us. Best regards, Bianca
This was a disappointing trip from start to finish. The bus was extremely cramped, making the ride uncomfortable and stressful. At each stop we were rushed through with barely enough time to see anything, let alone enjoy it. The schedule felt poorly planned and chaotic, and the whole experience lacked basic organization. The guide is not familiar with basic facilities like WIFI on bus. Overall, the trip felt uncomfortable, rushed, and not worth the money. I wouldn’t recommend this tour to anyone looking for a relaxed or enjoyable visit.
Hello Alex! We are sorry that your experience was not what you expected and we appreciate your time. On that day, the tour was affected by the cruise ship arriving a day early, changes to the cruise schedule, and a later than planned disembarkation, which reduced the time available and forced us to adjust the pace of the tour. These were circumstances beyond our control. We appreciate your understanding and take your feedback as an opportunity for improvement. We hope you continue to enjoy your trip. Best regards, Dos Oceanos team
Spotted quite a few wildlife animal. The ride to Valdés peninsula was very comfortable since there ware only 8 people in a 16 people capacity van. We were able to get back to the cruise pier on time without rushing.

The place is beautiful. The day was great. We've seen a lot of animals. But it really takes the entire stop of the ship. There's no time left for a walk around the city. Stayed a long time in transport, but that was written.
Atenciosamente, Bianca
Very nice experience. Reliable, punctual and gave us lots of information Thanks, I recommend it!! My family and I left very happy!
Was picked up right outside the Pier on time and was given a excellent tour. Guide was aware of our return time and kept us on schedule but allowed us the flexibility to stay at places we wanted some extra time. Gave us options and took us to some places with wildlife which we didn't have to share with other tours. Knowaglable, friendly, professional. Highly recommend!
Ben, we aprreciate your review! So glad you enjoyed the tour!
