Itinerary
The tour starts in downtown Halifax with a 1.5 hour (approximate) drive to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lunenburg, considered the finest known example of a British Colonial Era settlement in North America. Settled in 1753, Lunenburg is the second oldest British colony in Canada and home to the world famous tall ship, Bluenose II. Strolling through the streets of Lunenburg will take you back to an era long ago, when most of the inhabitants made their livelihood from the bounty of the sea and home to some of the finest seafood in Canada. See for yourself why this small charming town is one of the most endearing of its kind. You'll have 2:30 hrs. (approximate) to explore the Lunenburg at your leisure and have lunch at one of the town's seafood restaurants.
After you leave Lunenburg, you'll be on your way to Peggy's Cove, home to one of the most famous light houses in the world and Nova Scotia's most iconic landmarks. The scenic drive to Peggy's Cove will take 1:30 hrs. (approximate). The rugged and captivating landscape is awe inspiring for those who have never witnessed the power of the sea, as waves crash along the coastline. You'll have 1 hr. (approximate) to explore the cove's fishing village, browse some of the area's small quaint shops, and take some amazing photographs that you'll cherish for years to come. The tour concludes with your stop in Peggy's Cove and you will return to Halifax 1 hr. (approximate) later.

Excellent clear information in pick up and return. Trustworthy. I felt safe that I would be returning on time for my ship. The locations are gorgeous and well worthwhile visiting rather than the city of Halifax- which is probably lovely, but I wanted small cute and charming. Lunenburg and Peggy cove hit the spot. Thanks Ron for an interesting and well thought through and explained tour
This tour was exceptional! Our driver/guide (Ron) was a lovely guy, filled with knowledge & local stories, absolutely brilliant.
All good, all point of interest explained
The tour guide was very personable and helpful. I enjoyed the seeing two locations outside of Halifax.
We had a great trip to Lunenburg and Peggy’s Cove. Our driver and guide, Nilah from Anchor Tours was wonderful. She gave us lots of information about Halifax as well as the places on the tour. The trip was nicely paced with plenty of time to explore and have lunch. Nilah even persuaded the sun to come out after a foggy morning. Would highly recommend.
Great tour, friendly driver / Guide, especially if you don’t have a car it’s really worth the price. Thanks again A+
My daughter and I booked this full day excursion a few months earlier for our birthday week celebration in Halifax. Our driver and tour guide, Robert, was one of the best I've had. He was knowledgeable about the area, he had great stories and advice and engaged with everyone. The van was comfortable and we appreciated the door to door service from our hotel. Unfortunately, it poured that day and in fact much of the week. We were hoping that either the excursion would be cancelled or rescheduled to another day. The weather forecast was showing that it would rain a lot, not just a light drizzle or on and off. So, I'm very disappointed with the tour operator, Anchor, for not giving us the opportunity to do so. I've been to Peggy's Cove and Lunenburg before, but my daughter didn't get much of an experience because everyone ran out to take photos and then right back into the van, with no opportunity to get out and savour the sights or to have nice photos to enjoy. That's why my rating is 3 out of 5 for the excursion itself, but 5 out of 5 for Robert.
Thank you for taking the time to write. I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed your tour guide, Robert. Unfortunately, rain is not something that is within our control. As such, we advertise all of our tours as a "rain or shine" event. That's clearly stated on our product listing on Viator and on our own website. We do cancel tours when severe weather is expected that may jeopardize the safety of our guests and guides. This wasn't the situation here - not even remotely close. We would have accommodated your request to switch your reservation, however, we didn't have this tour scheduled for the day you specifically requested. This was explained to you in writing. Fantastic outing and a great tour guide
5/5 the pick up and drop off from the hotel was fantastic. Our guide Robert, was very knowledgeable about the places that we went to. He was very engaging and fun with the group as well. The time we spent in each location was adequate for sightseeing and picture taking without feeling like it was dragging on. Overall, I do suggest booking this as a day plan when you’re in Nova Scotia. I now know the right way to order a perfect lobster dinner wherever I am for the rest of my life!
The guide talked too much. Non stop for 4 and a half hours. While in the van. He shared things that gave me a negative feeling about Canada. Maybe if you are Canadian, it would be more acceptable, but visiting from another country, it was too much.
