Itinerary
This daytour will begin on the Montjuïc Mountain, from where you can appreciate the splendid panoramic views of the city. The mountain was a strategy to defend the city against attacks. Now is is home to the famous Miró foundation and the Caixa Forúm. These and other buildings on Montjuïc, perfectly illustrate examples of modern art and contemporary architecture. The Montjuïc also includes examples of town planning and architecture especially designed for the 1929 International Exhibition.
To reach Barcelona's coastline, we will drive through Las Ramblas, the very famous avenue of the city.
You will head to Barcelona’s coast, passing by the Columbus Monument and the Gothic Drassanes. The beach is surrounded by the latest architecture, best represented by the World Trade Centre and the transformed Old Port. Maintaining its authentic charisma, Port Vell is now full of restaurants, nightclubs and fantastic shops.
We will pass by the Columbus Monument, a tall monument to Christopher Columbus at the lower end of La Rambla.
Have a good time, taking a stroll in the Gothic Quarter, known as one of the districts that are part of Ciutat Vella, the old town of the city. In Ciutat Vella, where the history of Barcelona began, you will experience modernity woven with Roman and medieval imprints. There you will learn about the Catalan traditions and Barcelona’s origins, while exploring the enchanting corners, picturesque plazas and the narrow alleys of the Gothic quarter.
Plaça Sant Jaume, one of the main, oldest and most representative squares of Ciutat Vella, is defenitely worth a visit while walking through the Gothic Quarter.
Admire the façade of the gothic cathedral of Barcelona, seat of the archbishopric of the city.
We will drive through the Eixample district, designed by Ildefons Cerdà after 1895 , to expand the city. (The word “Eixample” actually means “expansion” in Catalan). Passing by the streets of this elegant neighborhood, you will remark that Cerdà’s idea of urban planning was revolutionary and utopian.
You will pass through Passeig de Gràcia, with its typical Catalan architecture. The avenue is home to the most remarkable façades of modernist buildings, including Gaudi’s La Pedrera, Casa Batlló and Domènech's Casa Lleó - Morera or Casa Ametller.
Get ready to be amazed by the colorful façade of Casa Battló, one of Gaudi's impressive houses.
Take in the unique, wave-like façade of Casa Milà, or La Pedrera, a true Gaudí masterpiece that stands out with its bold design.
We will pass by Casa Lleó - Morera or Casa Ametller, built by the modernist architect Lluís Domènech.
Before to head to our last destination of the day, you will have the chance to get inspired by the breathtaking Sagrada Familia. Gaudi's masterpiece is considered as the most emblematic landmark of Barcelona. There are no words to describe the feeling one gets when entering this magnificent temple of Modernism. The organic shapes found throughout its structure, the light filtering through its stained glass windows and the symbolic nature of the building’s sculpted façade will probably be the highlight of this tour.
We will make a stop at Parc Guell, based above the charming, bohemian neighbourhood of Gràcia. The architecture in the park was inspired by organic forms, found in nature. You will discover slender alleys with undulating forms, like rivers of molten lava, which are covered by columns shaped like trees, stalactites and other geometric shapes.

We had a private tour of Barcelona (Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, Montjuic, etc.,) with Jose Carlos as tour guide and Albert as driver. Both were both professional, easy going and on time in picking us up. Jose Carlos is extremely knowledgeable. He came prepared with his historic knowledge of Barcelona and its different barrios, complete with historic maps. You could tell he really wanted to share as much information about Barcelona. Very interesting facts! Jose Carlos answered all our questions. He also brought us to a very good restaurant in Barceloneta which served us delectable seafood and steak. The restaurant provided excellent customer service. Overall, we were lucky we had Jose Carlos and Albert on this tour. If you have a chance to do a tour of Barcelona, ask for these two.
Janis’ tour was the highlight of our stay in Barcelona. He was extremely knowledgeable and explained the history and architecture of the city in detail with iPad presentations. His love of architecture was much appreciated. He went out of his way to make sure we saw everything we wanted and cared about our well being as we are older and it was a hot day. We highly recommend you take this tour with him.
Stephanie was fun, knowledgeable, accommodating !! What a great day!!
Excellent trip with Steven and Juan Carlos(driver). Friendly, professional, and informative. We were traveling with our 7 month old son and they made the day spectacular. 10/10 on everything. Highly recommended.
Fantastic. Our guide was Mai. She was informative and an excellent presenter. The morning was spent walking and she adjusted her pace to accommodate my mobility limitations. Our tour fee included the admission fee for both Park Guell and Sagrada Familia. Mai took care of getting us to the correct entrance for each site. She met us at out hotel lobby and returned us there as well. The private tour is an excellent choice if you want to interact with your guide, want to participate in creating your tour parameters, or have special needs, such as mobility limitations. I highly recommend this operator and the guide Mai.
My wife and I wanted to experience as much of Barcelona as possible in one day. Our tour guide, Mai, met that desire and more! She was friendly, knowledgeable and made our experience unforgettable. Her ability to relate to us the history of Barcelona was truly amazing. She answered all our questions with care. Mai was flexible enough to allow us to proceed at our own pace. I give her tour my highest recommendation. Book it! You will be glad you did!
We spent 7 hours exploring the Old Town Barcino area, Parquegrüell, Sagrada Familia, and driving by a couple other buildings designed by Gaudí. Our guide, Eduard, was very personable and very knowledgeable. He was able to accommodate some special needs we had that day very graciously. We would gladly hire him again for future touring.
