The Latin Quarter, on the left bank of the Seine, is one of the oldest and liveliest in Paris. Renowned for its academic and intellectual atmosphere, it is home to the Sorbonne, one of the world's most prestigious universities, as well as numerous bookshops, literary cafés and art cinemas. Its narrow streets, charming squares like Place de la Contrescarpe and bohemian atmosphere attract students, artists and visitors in search of an authentic, lively Paris. It's a place where history meets modernity, where tradition meets creativity.

Pass by

The Arènes de Lutèce, located in the 5ᵉ arrondissement of Paris, are an ancient relic dating back to the 1st century AD. They were a Roman amphitheater capable of seating around 15,000 spectators. Used for gladiatorial combat and other public spectacles, they are one of the few remaining reminders of ancient Lutetia, the former name of Paris. Today, it's a public park, where you can still see the arcades and the shape of the circus. It's a tranquil spot in the heart of the Latin Quarter, combining history and relaxation.

Pass by

Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral, a jewel of Gothic architecture, is located on the Île de la Cité in the heart of Paris. Built between the XIIᵉ and XIVᵉ centuries, it is famous for its immense stained glass windows, particularly the rose window, its detailed carvings and its impressive towers. The interior houses a magnificent altar, sacred relics and a monumental organ. Although partially damaged by fire in 2019, Notre-Dame remains a powerful symbol of Paris's religious and cultural history. Its majestic architecture and spiritual atmosphere make it a must-see for all visitors

10 min

The Basilique du Sacré-Coeur, perched atop the Montmartre hill, is a Paris landmark, recognizable by its Romanesque-Byzantine architecture and immaculate dome. Inaugurated in 1919, it offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the capital from its forecourt. The interior houses one of the world's largest mosaics, depicting Christ in glory. Surrounded by the picturesque narrow streets of Montmartre, it is a place of meditation and a must-see for visitors in search of authenticity and Parisian charm.

Pass by

The Opéra Garnier, a XIXᵉ century architectural masterpiece designed by Charles Garnier, is a symbol of Parisian pomp and elegance. Inaugurated in 1875, it captivates with its sculpture-adorned facade, majestic marble grand staircase and sumptuous auditorium, overlooked by the famous ceiling painted by Marc Chagall. A mecca for lyrical and choreographic art, it hosts prestigious opera and ballet performances. Its grandiose architecture and captivating atmosphere make it one of Paris's cultural gems.

Pass by

The Eiffel Tower, the emblematic symbol of Paris and France, is a 330-metre-high wrought-iron structure designed by Gustave Eiffel for the 1889 Universal Exhibition. Located on the Champ-de-Mars, it offers spectacular panoramic views of the capital from its three publicly accessible floors. Day or night, illuminated by thousands of lights, it embodies Parisian romanticism and elegance.

Pass by

Les Invalides, located in the 7ᵉ arrondissement of Paris, is a monumental complex housing several historic buildings, including the Hôtel des Invalides, a former hospice for wounded soldiers, and the Dôme des Invalides, where Napoleon Bonaparte is laid to rest. Built under Louis XIV, the site is now a place of remembrance, with museums dedicated to France's military history, such as the Musée de l'Armée. The Dome, with its impressive golden dome, dominates the area, symbolizing both military grandeur and the tribute paid to the soldiers who fell for France.

Great tour and fun ride...

Great tour and fun ride through the city. My mother has limited mobility, so this was a unique way for her to see parts of the city which otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to visit.

A Spirited, Unique Way to Tour Saint-Germaine-en-Laye and Versaille!

Visiting Paris? Spend a day our two in laid-back Saint-Germain-en-Laye and Versaille, and don't miss this tour. While my husband and I have been to both places, we craved a local's perspective and tips. Retro Tours was was a very cool way to see the cities. We went to the palace stables, by a beautiful lake, a real French market, antique shops, and more. At my request, we even stopped for a drink at a cafe. Julien was a fantastic tour guide and adjusted our tour to work around the Olympic flame, which was in both cities around the time of our tour. Say yes to this tour and you're guaranteed good vibes. I recommend touring when you first arrive to get the lay of the land. Then, you can go back and explore the places that interest you the most.

Highly highly recommend

Don’t miss this wonderful experience . My husband and I booked two cycles so we could each be in a sidecar! We were the envy of all we passed on the streets. We chose to tour through the Montmartre streets around the arc de Triumph twice!!! Getting picked up at our hotel was so easy. Guides Martine and Ari were the absolute best. Besides being knowledgeable and interesting, they were charming ambassadors for Paris.
