Itinerary
Starting on the north side of the hill, your first stop will be a traditional Parisian boulangerie where they’ve been serving the locals with freshly baked goods for generations. This is the perfect spot for a bite of breakfast. You’ll sample either freshly baked bread, a flaky croissant or chou pastry while hearing more about the specifics that make a simple French breakfast so irresistible!
Step into a legendary Montmartre bistro that’s been a gathering spot for artists and locals since 1921. Here, you’ll sip chilled white wine and enjoy oeuf mayonnaise, a simple and flavorful dish that reflects the neighborhood's rich culinary tradition and its artistic roots.
Then, you’ll visit a local fromagerie to sample seasonal French cheeses, learning about the art of French cheese shopping with a focus on seasonality and small producers.
Next, you’ll take a guided historical walk discovering more about the area and how it has been shaped through the ages. Sights like the Montmartre vineyard and one of the oldest cabarets will greet you as your guide shares fascinating facts and anecdotes. When you reach the top of the hill, get ready to soak in one of the most incredible views of Paris.
End your tour at a charming bistro for escargot and aligot (creamy mashed potatoes with cheese and garlic), paired with red wine. These are classic French dishes that have stood the test of time for a reason.
For dessert, swing by a small chocolatier creating some of Montmartre’s most creative macarons. It’s the perfect sweet note to end your culinary exploration of Montmartre.
