Great space and experience. Enjoyed the interactive and informative tasting of several good wines. Highly recommend
Fun location in below ground basement, cool on a hot day. Plenty of steps. Samples of 3 wines and good overview of wine production in France.
Wonderful experience! Our sommelier, Clément, was incredibly kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. It was the most fun I’ve ever had on a wine tasting/tour. The wines were great and it was the perfect cool break on a hot Paris day. I would highly recommend! Tip- there is no food on the tour, so we grabbed a quick croissant snack before!
We were excited for our tour and booked with ease with Viator the day prior to our visit. We had some challenges that were unforeseen getting to the experience and we tried to call the Caves to let them know. Unfortunately their phone continued to ring and then finally when someone answered , and immediately hung up on us. Through no fault of The Cave , We arrived 30 minutes into our tour and tried to explain the unforeseen circumstance with transportation (our taxi got lost-abandoned us and we had to take another fighting city traffic ) We spoke to the person at the front desk and also the manager. They were dismissive and rude- refusing to allow us to join for the last half hour left on our tour. They also wouldn’t allow a worker who volunteered to show us around or to have us join any other tours that evening stating they were full. We were leaving the next morning and couldn’t book another option . I understand it was on us to arrive on time but we did our best to call to tell them. We even showed the manager our call log on our phone as proof. The manager also refused us any tastings we would have received on the tour to make up for the missed tour we had paid for. We felt belittled, dismissed and disrespected as human beings the way we were spoken to. I walked away in tears I felt so bad. No human needs to be treated that way. We however lucky to have a bright light after having met a few good folks from the company’s cheese store and the wine shop next door. Despite the managers rudeness, they allowed us to have one wine to taste and treated us with sympathy and smiles. I am so very disappointed we missed the tour. Again my complaint was how we were treated upon arrival. Essentially I felt robbed twice - once by the cab driver who got us lost, took our money and left us at the side of the ride hailing another cab to make it to the Cave … and then by the Cave who wouldn’t even answer our calls. There are better ways to treat customers then rudely dismiss them.
Exciting story about the king's wine cellars, secret times and an exquisite guide who told about French wine. Recommended!
Very interesting and informative experience! Got to sample different types of wine and learn about the process. Highly recommend.
This was a great experience. I love wine and know a bit about it, my son enjoys wine and doesn't know anything about it. The sommelier was great- knowledgeable and entertaining. We appreciated that they shared the history of the location. The tour finishes in the wine shop where you have the opportunity to purchase what we tasted. There was absolutely no pressure to purchase, but we did pick up a bottle my son enjoyed.
Very informative and a lovely cave to visit Small groups was great Lots of interesting activities and the host was very friendly
Basic and they treat you really bad if you don’t upgrade your ticket to the more expensive wines. Wines tasted nice and the underground element was interesting, as well the the museum aspect but treatment was poor.
Thank you for your feedback. We're happy you enjoyed the wines and the unique setting. We're sorry you felt poorly treated due to not upgrading — please know that all guests are equally welcome, regardless of ticket type. We'll make sure our team reinforces this. This is not the experience we strive to offer. Your comments will help us improve.
It was a great experience. The guide was very knowledgeable and informative. The information we received was more than we received from any other wine tour. My wife and I really enjoyed the tour.
