Outstanding experience

First of all I was pleasantly surprised that this was the cheapest paradise valley trip on the site, 120 dh per person, including breakfast, yet it was with one of the main regional professional tour operators, MTS. The local company that high most famous international tour agencies will also use for their excursions. I must point out something important from the outset, this trip is only for the fit who can walk around 40 minutes on very uneven, with gradients, as it’s basically a hike, not a gentle walk. It can also be very hot or cold, so you be prepared for both. You definitely need trainers or shoes you can hike in. The swimming is good when there is water there, however you need to be able to life your body weight out a 6 meter deep pool which is not easy to get up, especially as it has slippy algie growing on it. Also the actual rocks are can be slippy, especially with wet feet. This trip is one of the best value trips and a must do if you are physically able and it sounds like something you would enjoy. We got picked up at our local pick up point, Zaz restaurant in Tamraght, then we took a 15 minute ride in the modern air conditioned mini bus and stopped for “breakfast.” It was a small village on the way to paradise and firstly there were clean toilets there. We were all sat down on traditional seats and given fresh traditional Amazigh bread and some honey, olive oil and amalou (almond butter) to dip it in. It was plentiful and we were also given Moroccan sweet mint tea. We were then taken to the garden area where we were shown how they make Argan oil products and the tree they come from. We were then taken around “botanical garden” which was actually very interesting, lots of fab photo ops, and I was so pleased to see Stevia - the natural sweetener - growing wildly for the first time. We were then taken into “shop” area, offered more free samples of various honey and nut butters, then left along to browse all the products on offer. After about 10 minutes we were then ushered back into the bus to continue the tour. The good news is there was no pressure to buy from the shop no one asked for tips at any point here, or on the rest of this whole tour. This is the first time ever in Moroccan I’ve witnessed this, and it was so refreshing. Then we got to the valley after another 20 minutes driving and this had some spectacular views on the way. Once there we were instructed to follow our guide and we hiked around 20 minutes to get to the main pools of water/rocks. It was busy, but enough space to swim and sunbathe. Note if you have a low immune system, you can catch parasites from standing water in the country, so only submerge yourself if your fit and healthy. Also note some bits of the water are very shallow and others bits 6 meters deep. It’s usually busy with tourists in the mornings and quieter in the afternoons, unless it’s Moroccan school holidays, then it will be busy with locals in the afternoons. The shops and restaurants by the water were reasonably priced, and we enjoyed a lovely chicken tagine and some avocado smoothies. The views from these various restaurants are spectacular and I would really recommend spend time in them if you can. Our guides choose to take us off the usual path going and coming back to where the car was parked, and I have to say this was good as I saw parts of they valley I hadn’t seen before. The guides were friendly and helpful. The transfer back to the drop of point was changed to a different car due to logistics meaning it was easier for us to split up so we all got home faster. You might think this was something odd, but as all the local drivers/guides know each other, it’s something very normal to swap and change guests depending on drop off points. Overall fantastic experience and highly recommended.

Good value for the price

A bit rushed. Good value for the price but a bit grubby at paradise valley. Litter in the water and cigarette butts. Breakfast was tasty. Please note if you not a good walker do not take this trip.

Experience in...

Experience made in February, at the top! We started with a traditional quick breakfast, then visited the botanical garden and shop. Then head to the natural basins of water, beautiful landscapes. Small hike of 15/20 min, accessible to all! Drinks and meals possible on site during the break time. I recommend +++ this activity and especially take your jerseys!:-)

The guides were very good at interpretation of a few languages. The view was so lovely and serene. Thankyou so much to Mohammed, a lovely man who explained so well of the different places. Thankyou to Nabil for the lovely drive upto the top of Agadir. It was a very worthwhile experience and good value for money. I would go many times to this place. A Scenic Half-Day Trip to Paradise Valley

I can highly recommend this half-day trip to everyone. Although there wasn't much water in the rock pools due to the drought, the place was still stunning. Not only was Paradise Valley beautiful, but we also saw breathtaking landscapes along the way. The tour guide and driver were both very friendly. We stopped at the most scenic spots and had plenty of time for photos—they even offered to take pictures of us. I definitely think this trip is worth spending half a day on!
