Palermo Sicilian Street Food Tour: Small Group by Do Eat Better

Description
The Do Eat Better Experience food tour is a walking tour around the historical center of the city. The tourist is guided by a Foodie, a local buddy able to explain every detail of the selected restaurants, their preparations, and the relevant history/curiosities. Do Eat Better Experience tours are a mix of high-quality gastronomy as a way of showing Italian culture and lifestyle and a walking experience together with a local friend. This is the reason why we accept small groups only: we want to focus on a genuine exchange and give to each tourist the highest attention possible. Please, note that the tour is always run in English and Italian; other languages upon request.

Itinerary
In our Palermo street food tour, you will taste the best of Sicilian Street Food, walking in the loud and colorful historical city center, escorted by our local food experts.
You’ll kick off the food tour in Palermo with two absolute must-tries that give a true overview of Sicily’s rich, bold street-food culture: panino ca’ meusa and the classic panino with panelle and crocchè. All of this unfolds in the vibrant atmosphere of the historic center, especially along Via Vittorio Emanuele, where centuries-old palazzi, bustling markets, and the constant hum of local life create the perfect backdrop. The smells of frying panelle, the calls of street vendors, and the mix of locals and travelers make this stretch of Palermo an unforgettable introduction to the city’s soul.
We will taste some of the following Sicilian street-food specialties, like the famous sfincione and rice arancina. Tucked between the historic streets of Palermo, this area feels more local and authentic, where small bakeries and street vendors carry on traditions passed down for generations. The scent of freshly baked sfincione and sizzling rice fills the air, giving you a delicious glimpse into everyday Palermitan life.
Along Via Maqueda, one of Palermo’s most vibrant and energetic streets, you’ll pause to enjoy Sicilian cannoli, a colorful, irresistible explosion of sweetness and crunch. Surrounded by music, lively crowds, historic façades, and the constant buzz of city life, this stop adds a joyful, indulgent moment to the tour, perfectly capturing Palermo’s passion for both tradition and celebration.
In the heart of the city center, you’ll take a refreshing break with Sicilian granita, a timeless local favorite. Whether enjoyed while strolling through sunlit streets or pausing in a lively square, this cool, velvety treat offers a perfect contrast to Palermo’s warm energy. Surrounded by historic buildings, everyday city rhythms, and the relaxed pace of local life, granita becomes more than a dessert, it’s a moment to slow down and savor the essence of Sicily.

Carlo was fantastic, knowledgable, and friendly.
This was a great tour and we are glad we booked it. We were a small group of 5 - myself and my husband and another group of 3 . Our local guide Oriana was informative as well as entertaining. This was not a boring tour and the 3 hours flew by quickly. There was plenty of food on this tour and it was tasty. Would highly recommend as something to do in Palermo.
A great food tour. Oriana was brilliant and very knowledgeable. She took us to some great places with history and charm. Definitely recommend!
An absolute must do! Annalisa was amazing, so sweet, knowledgeable and personable. She made us feel like family. Everything we ate was delicious.
Oriana was a great host and very knowlegable. She shared multiple insights about living, working and eating in Palermo.
We really enjoyed this tour. We were a small group of 5 including myself and my husband. Our guide Oriana was a local who was informative as well as entertaining. There was plenty of food on this tour. Oriana’s conversation was lively and made for a really enjoyable few hours. Would highly recommend.
We had the best time on the tour with Oriana. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids (9 and 20). We have done a do eat better tour in Bologna, which was excellent. This was just a fabulous and everything we hoped for! We ate well, we learnt about the history of the island, what it would be like to live here and had a new best friend who can offer advice, help and support. We LOVED the tour. We bumped into Oriana’s previous tours on ours and saw Oriana a few days later when walking in town when on another tour. A best friend and there to help forever more for her guests. Was a brilliant day. Thank you!
Annalisa was absolutely fantastic! She is fun, engaging, and so genuinely in love with Palermo that by the end of the tour, we had fallen in love with the city too and already wanted to come back. She took us to authentic local spots where we tasted incredible Sicilian food, while sharing fascinating stories about Palermo’s history, culture, and traditions. It felt like exploring the city with a passionate local friend rather than taking a typical tour. If you want to experience the real Palermo through its food and its rich history, I couldn’t recommend Annalisa more highly!
Very friendly, helpfull and fun, we had the tour with analysa and she is the best
It was neither too long nor too short. The food selection was good, and we really enjoyed the meal. What you shared with us was well-balanced and not overwhelming. Many thanks at Carlo.
