Sho and Min were great hosts and helped explain a lot about Osaka food. We have fun making some local dishes.

Sho was extraordinary! My wife and I loved the entire experience, from shopping to preparing our meals to enjoying our creations. Sho asked us what we wanted to learn to make, he helped us shop for the ingredients, and then we walked to his high-rise apartment overlooking Osaka. A thoroughly enjoyable and memorable experience.
Great experience!!!!!!!! Very informative and fun. Experienced Japan and the Japanese culture in ways not possible without a local chef . Highly recommended.
It was a truly great experience. Shohei was incredibly attentive and detail-oriented throughout the entire class. Although the setup was in an apartment-which felt a bit unusual at first for a cooking class-he quickly made us feel completely comfortable and at ease, as if we had known him for years. The class itself was very thorough and well-structured, with clear explanations and careful attention to every step. Overall, it was a warm, welcoming, and highly enjoyable experience that I would absolutely recommend.
Fantastic experience. We went to the market and our chef so was patient answering all our questions. We then returned to his kitchen and made the best food! Probably the best experience we've had in Japan yet!
It was Amazing! Shohei is an amazing cook and even better person. He showed me how to make Ramen and gyosas and everything ended up Delicious!!! Also appreciate Sho’s recommendation for places to go later in my trip in Japan! Totally recommend, hopefully I can do it again my next trip
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful review. We are thrilled to hear that your time with Shohei was such a standout experience. It is great to know that learning to make ramen and gyoza with him was both fun and delicious, and even better that his local recommendations added to the rest of your trip. Shohei will be so happy to hear your kind words. We truly appreciate your recommendation and would love to welcome you back for another Traveling Spoon experience the next time you are in Japan.
We had a fun time making gyoza & ramen with Shohei as our guide. Our food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience!
The cooking class and market shopping was a great and unique addition to our trip. Shohei is a fantastic host and teacher, was very careful about food allergies, and we have new skills and excellent recipes to bring home!
We had a very enjoyable afternoon with Masato-san und Chi-san - involving cooking delectable Miso soup and making our own sushi rolls. Both the chefs were very patient and friendly during class. Their teaching was enriched by lots of banter but also trivia and stories revolving around Japan and Osaka, making it a memorable experience. We would like to thank the Samurai Cooks for the opportunity to learn a little bit more about Japanese cuisine and culture.
We learned a lot about Japanese culture while cooking three separate dishes and miso soup. Samurai Max is the perfect host. He contacted us ahead of time for preferences and made sure we had no allergy issues. By explaining the seasonings and sauces we will be able to replicated what we learned. We had teens that he engaged throughout the process, making it fun for them. His cooking studio is close to other major activities and we did a photo shoot with another vendor after to complete the evening. He went the extra mile to make sure my son got what he wanted at nearby market too!
