- The Olive oil tour & tasting experience is provided upon request and depending on availability. In case there is no availability for the day you are interested, the experience can be offered the next available date or choose another similar available experience after coordination.
- Transportation is needed to visit the traditional organic olive grove and the olive oil mill which is located 10' away from Kalamata city centre and from the meeting point. Please inform us if you have your own vehicle. In other case, we can arrange it with our partners at an extra cost.
- Availability of the traditional Organic olive grove and the Olive oil tasting experience: All year round, Monday – Sunday either in the mornings or in the afternoons.
- Availability & visit at the Olive oil mill: March to October from Monday to Sunday. November - February, after coordination and depending on availability, due to olive oil harvesting period.
- The Olive oil tour experience is also offered in the afternoons at 17:30 p.m.
- Holy Friday - Easter Tuesday & Greek official holidays are excluded.

My private tour with Maria consisted of visiting a biological olive grove, an oil press, and an oil tasting. It was not only incredibly informative but also amusing. Maria managed to turn this tour into an experience with her Greek charm and energy. And I really learned a lot! The oil tasting was completely new to me, and I really enjoyed listening to Kelly's explanations and discovering the universe of different flavors in olive oil a little. It is a great activity that I can absolutely recommend.

Maria, our guide and owner of the business, was exceptional. We do A LOT of these types of tours on our travels and she is by far the best one we have had! Not only is she knowledgeable about olives and olive oil and the milling process and the history of Greece and Kalamata, but she's PASSIONATE about those things and it shines through. She cares that you enjoy your experience and is passionate about her guests. Her husband, Giannis, was our taxi driver and she arranged our transportation with him. Everything was taken care of and Kelli, at the tasting shop, was super passionate and knowledgeable and sweet! We bought a few things at the shop as well. Time wasn't a factor. They spent as much time with you as you wanted! Maria also does other tours so before we leave Kalamata, we will have Maria give us one more tour! I can't say enough about her! Thank you Maria!!!

The entire experience was absolutely fantastic!! Not only is Maria passionate about sharing the Peloponnesian culture, she is also such a warm and genuine person on top of it! I enjoyed my half-day private tour with Maria; we had a lovely morning touring the olive grove, the olive oil refinery, and then had a beautiful and intimate olive oil tasting with a lovely couple in the town of Kalamata. This is a wonderful tour - I hope to come back and bring my family and also see Maria in Lefkada soon :)

I had the most amazing experience with Maria. She’s so knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Greece, it was contagious! I felt myself loving Greece as much as she did. I learned much more than just how olive oil is made. We ended the tour with dinner and it felt like having dinner with my best friend. She’s so warm and friendly, and the food was amazing! This was one of the best tours I’ve ever been on and I’m tallking over 100. The guide Maria was informative and passionate about her subject as well as being delightful and upbeat. We spent time in the grove learning about Olive growing, then we went to a processing facility and ended up doing a tasting at a shop. I can’t imagine a more complete experience and we are now devotees of extra-virgin olive oil.! I highly recommend this tour to anyone who comes to Kalamata and is looking for an immersive experience since olive oil is really what this town is all about. Just be clear with Viator and the tour guide about transport to the venues.

What a wonderful time we had spending nearly half a day immersed in the world of olives and olive oil with Maria, a thoroughly delightful person and highly knowledgeable guide. The tour started in an organic olive grove where, surrounded by centuries-old olive trees, we were introduced to the history and science of cultivating olives; we then went on to a processing facility where we saw the modern method of olive oil extraction, and finally we ended with a tasting of multiple varieties of olive oil hosted by an expert who explained the elements important in determining the grade of an olive oil. Maria’s enthusiastic and engaging manner throughout the day made us feel as if we were chatting with an old friend, and not surprisingly the conversations often detoured to favorite recipes and favorite memories of family meals in which olive oil always was a central element. We are already planning for a return tour during harvesting season.
