The Colossi of Memnon are two massive stone statues located in the Theban Necropolis, on the west bank of the Nile in Egypt. They depict the Pharaoh Amenhotep III, who ruled Egypt during the 18th Dynasty (around 1390–1352 BC). The statues are made of quartzite sandstone and are about 18 meters (59 feet) tall. They originally stood at the entrance of Amenhotep's mortuary temple, but today they are the only remains of the temple still standing. The statues are also known for their acoustic properties, as they emit a whistling or humming sound when struck by the sun's rays. This phenomenon, known as the "Vocal Memnon," was thought by the ancient Greeks to be the statue speaking, and it drew many tourists to the site.

The Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari is a funerary temple built for the 18th dynasty Pharaoh Hatshepsut, who ruled Egypt from 1478 to 1458 BC. The temple is located in the Theban Necropolis on the west bank of the Nile, opposite the city of Luxor. The temple is unique for its design, as it was built into a cliff face, with three terraces rising up the face of the rock. The temple features a series of chapels, courtyards and halls, some of which are decorated with intricate carvings and paintings depicting Hatshepsut's rule and her achievements. The temple also features a series of statues of Hatshepsut, including a large red granite statue of the pharaoh, which is now on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The temple was rediscovered in the 19th century and has since undergone extensive restoration. Today, it is a popular tourist site and a significant example of ancient Egyptian architecture.

The tombs are decorated with intricate carvings and paintings depicting religious scenes, funerary rituals, and the daily life of the pharaohs. Good best all and hot air balloon

Good experience if you have only one day to see everything in Luxor. Started off with a hot air balloon ride. Pick up was slightly delayed but still made it with plenty of time and had a good experience. You can get some professional photos and videos for 15 dollars I would highly recommend doing that. Afterwards your dropped off to your private guide and driver to see all the sights. Guide was very knowledgeable of everything. It doesn’t come with any entry fees so it cost around 100 dollars for 2 people to get inside and see everything with this tour. Overall good day just make sure you are well rested before and drink some caffeine as our tour started at 4am and went into the afternoon. Also was given the opportunity at the end to stop for lunch or shopping but all on your dime!

Aerial Adventures!

Did the hot air balloon thing over Luxor. Let me tell you, it's a whole new world up there. You see things from a different angle – literally. And when the sun rose, it was like a spotlight on history. Breakfast afterward was a nice touch, but the real treat was seeing Egypt from the sky.
