Our guide was great. She told us about the area and especially the history of where we were going. She explained everything on the grounds, then did the same in the Olympic museum, bringing history to life.
Elena looked after us today, and the tour was amazing! Extremely knowledgeable about the area and has a great sense of humour. The sites were simply breathtaking and the museum was a great representation of the history that developed back then. Would recommend!
Was greeted by a very friendly lady who introduce her self and walk us to the coach and introduce the driver she the told us a little about herself and the driver. She also gave us a brief history of the island and she was very knowledgeable about the Archaeological site ❤️
The tour was the best way to learn about Ancient Olympia. We never had to worry about returning to the ship because everything went according to plan. Perfect for those who are short on time.
We booked this last minute so we’re not sure what to expect but we had such a great time! The ship was fun and came with accessories to fully become a pirate. Lots of pictures were taken. The crew was lovely and we got a lot of interesting facts - very cool to see some of the buildings from the water we had visited. The plane fly overs were very cool as well. Thank you!
Great tour, good pacing, tour guide very informative and knowledgeable! Enjoyed the ruins, museum and time in the town.
As a solo traveler on a cruise stop, I found this tour to be very convenient and well-organized. From the moment I disembarked in Katakolon, everything was clearly arranged, and I didn’t have to worry about navigating anything myself. The transfer to Olympia was comfortable, and I appreciated the punctual timing since cruise schedules are always tight. At the site, I was able to explore at my own pace, which is something I value when traveling alone. The ruins are impressive, and the museum is worth spending time in. The guide provided useful context without being overly detailed or intrusive. Overall, it was a straightforward and reliable way to experience Olympia in a limited timeframe.
Our Tour Guide Atlas was really knowledgeable as he had worked as an Archeologist for the Bronze age and had a lot of interesting facts as we toured the grounds of Olympia and museum. The tour bus was right at the port which made it very easy to attend the tour as we were on a cruise ship. Atlas was especially helpful as we got lost at the end of the excursion and couldn't find the bus. He went out and hunted for us (Cameron 1 & 2) and I will be eternally grateful that we didn't get left behind!
Super easy transfer from ship. The bus left on time and the driver was very safe on the winding roads. The ruins are basically a huge open park with lots of fallen stones so it was good for the kids to run around and burn off energy after being cooped up on the cruise ship.
My partner and I joined this tour during our cruise stop, and it ended up being a peaceful and enriching experience. The transfer from Katakolon was efficient, and we appreciated not having to worry about transportation logistics. Olympia itself was fascinating—walking among ancient ruins together felt almost surreal. We took our time, paused often, and just enjoyed the atmosphere. The museum added a deeper layer of understanding to what we saw outside. The tour wasn’t rushed, and there was a nice balance between guided explanation and free exploration. It felt like a good mix of structure and independence, which suited us perfectly as a couple looking for a calm day rather than a hectic group tour.
