The local tour operator made an error and booked us for the 31st instead of the 13th on a private tour. They offered a group tour with unacceptable terms and we had to downgrade from a full day to half day to eventually secure a tour. Not possible to reach Viatour - just the local operator. We had to wake up at 6:30 for no reason on vacation. No make good/recovery offered for extreme inconvenience and disappointment.
We’re truly sorry for the inconvenience caused by this booking issue. Our team immediately took action to offer you an alternative private tour in the afternoon so you could still enjoy the experience despite the situation. We appreciate your understanding and hope to welcome you again. Kind regards, Jeanne from the Ophorus Team
We were on a tour with 8 people in total. The guide was very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining the three stops (Point du Hoc, American Cemetery, and the beach). He had visuals/photos to share with the group, and interesting anecdotes and facts. Only improvement would be if during the drive he shared even more information about the area, or the history. The time in the van was often silent, unless s passenger asked him a question.
ORPHOUS was incredibly arrogant about our reservation. Don't trust them. As part of a wedding celebration planned in Normandy, we set up a tour for 6 of us after the wedding to go to Normandy beaches. 3 or 4 weeks before the date, I told them that we CONFIRM our date. They said to fill out a cc form, which would be sent to us. Never saw another email. 12 days from the actual wedding, I got a notice that I had not returned my cc form and our excursion was cancelled. Now, the whole month of June is booked by everyone, and I have promised the bride's sister and others that we have a guided tour set up. This is an awful thing to do to a family that is travelling to many towns and can't be in Normandy but one day. I am embarrassed now to tell others that we are without a tour or guide. We all wanted some in depth historical interpretation. Do not trust ORPHOUS.
Good Morning Chris, We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the situation described in the review. At times, due to high demand and limited availability, it may not be possible to accommodate all requests and reservations. We understand the disappointment and frustration that can arise from canceled plans, especially when special occasions are involved. We strive to provide the best service possible but occasionally face limitations beyond our control. We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any negative experience.
