- Distance: - Approximately 1.5 to 2km (leisurely paced) on mostly flat terrain initially, with a couple of hills toward the ends and a set of stairs to navigate. Note:- we may alter the tour route to avoid stairs to support all guest needs.

Enthusiastic host telling some (tall) tales about Newcastle's history. A great way to see where Australia's early European settlers lived & worked. Walking through the old part of the city feels much more authentic and historic than the Rocks.
Mel was lovely. She was a great storyteller and I loved hearing the stories of the past in Newcastle. It was fascinating and I have a new found interest in my home town of Newcastle. Things we never learn at school !
We did this wonderful walking tour through the streets of Newcastle enjoying the stories and locations of Newcastle’s past. Our guide Cooper was excellent and provided wonderfully passionate versions of each event. There was a bit of walking around the streets adjacent to the coast and to the centre of town but this provided great atmosphere of each story - and it is a walking tour. Wonderful experience

This was a fun and informative night (even for those of us who have lived in Newcastle at any one time). We got lucky with weather and it was a beautiful night. Our tour guide was a bit of a character which made the night even more enjoyable. I would not recommend this tour for young children due to the nature of some of the crimes. But would make it as a MUST DO for anyone over 15.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable. The tour was insightful and gave those of us that have lived and worked in this city a new appreciation and knowledge. A very enjoyable evening.
Our tour guide was really wonderful and told us great tales of Old Newcastle. Would definitely recommend for families and others as something different to do when you’re on holidays.

We enjoy walking tours,of any description, great way to get a feel for the place you are visiting. Unfortunately this tour did not hit the mark, the true crimes were very “tame” and the guide was not a particularly good orator, so did not make the story come alive for us.
Mars was a great guide and the tour is worth doing if your in Newcastle.
