The world famous Rick's Café, founded in 1974, is undoubtedly the epic Negril hangout spot for locals and visitors alike! Strategically located along the cliffs of Jamaica’s most western tip, Rick’s Café easily takes the prize for a must-do attraction that you don’t want to miss! Nowhere else in the world do you get the opportunity to see the daring 100ft. free style cliff dives. Visitors also participate in the cliff jumps from a low of 10ft. to high of 40ft. – take your pick, of course at your own risk and optional. You get the adrenaline rush just watching the excitement put on by local divers who grew up practicing their skills right there on the cliffs – this is where you watch the most beautiful golden sunset, enjoy drinks and food at the bar or on the terrace (own expense), chosen from a menu with an array of unique choices, while dancing to the soothing sounds of live reggae music put on by some of our popular local entertainers. On a very busy day, the kitchen staff may have a lot to do so if you wish to have dinner at Rick’s, in the interest of time, you might want to put in your order as soon as you arrive at the location. Kimmeridge Bay visit

Expensive open air beach cafe, should have guessed as no prices displayed, 3 ice creams and 1 coffee £19. Should have checked before ordering! Lovely bay with wonderful views, great for kids to fossil hunt and explore the rock pools.

Amazing and COPLEY was the BEST

Copley our driver was amazing!!! He went out of his way to make our experience so much better. The staff at Margaritaville was so accommodating and friendly!! The food was delish. It took a little time so make sure you order right away. The beach was amazing and the water perfect. Rick’s Cafe was so much fun the cliffs were insane. It was crowded but still a blast. The pool was amazing and the staff was so friendly.

Don't book excursion with your driver

Our driver told us if we wanted to book an excursion we had to pay him cash because the company only uses licensed guides. We were uncomfortable and felt pressed to book. We ended up going on a glass bottom boat. It was a complete scam. We had to meet the boat out in the water up to our hips and the guides were two teenagers. While talking to them we found out the driver charged us twice what they were paid to take us. There is no way this was legit!!

Our drive, Omar was...

Our drive, Omar was really good as far as his demeanor, professionalism and knowledge of the areas we passed to get to Negril. The reason for our displeasure is we were confined to the amenities of the area of the beach belonging to Margaritaville. As soon as we passed the restaurant and hit the beach, we were approached by vendors to pay for boat rides, parasailing, etc....sometimes aggressively. Some of them approached us numerous times even after telling them no. It was a very uncomfortable and unsafe feeling for me, my wife, and daughter. We were with another couple who was picked up on the way and we all agreed to leave Margaritaville early and just go to Rick's for the 2nd part of the tour. Rick's was a place that is a must-see in Negril. I don't really have anything negative to say. We did order a dish and food and it was actually pretty good.

Operator response

Dear Customer, Thanks for booking with us and for sharing your experience! We sympathize with you for that aggressive approach by vendors. We understand your frustration with the approach of vendors. It is really not a dangerous situation. It is a different culture that most Jamaican citizen wish was not the reality as it creates bad experiences for persons such as yourself. You do not have to purchase anything that you do not want. Just say no and keep walking and they will leave you alone. The Negril Day Trip that you purchase was a shared trip with other people in the group. Some customers will wonder away and when it is time to depart for Rick's Cafe the tour guide cannot find them. This action can cause discomfort and inconvenience to other travelers. Therefore, the tour guide will ask members of his group to stay close to Margaritaville and especially since Margaritaville has the necessary amenities that you can use for free. Also, the tour guide might have been trying to protect you from the aggressive vendors. Kind regards, Natalia M Manager

Good day out on the water

It was a good trip, though the drive back was a lot longer than expected. Would have loved to spend an additional hour at the beach as Rick's Cafe doesn't start pumping until later. Would've also appreciated leaving 30-45 minutes earlier to beat the traffic as the sunset view is not such a big deal.
