Itinerary
Your tour begins with a cruise through the City of Nassau where your driver will give you an historical background tour of the City. See statues of Queen Victoria of England and the first Governor General of the independent Bahamas. Visit Parliament-square where the Bahamian Laws are made and learn about the various Governments that controlled these Islands.
Our first stop will be at The Bahamas Rum Cake Factory. Here guest will have a chance to see how Rum-cake is made in The Bahamas and sample Free rum cakes with an option to purchase these delicious cakes
Next, we leave Nassau and cross over a bridge (Sir Sidney Poitier Bridge) to Paradise Island. Here, guest will be able to explore picturesque Atlantis and walk through the Casino and the gift shops. Take a photo in the King's Throne. Explore the allure of the ancient civilized society of Atlantis.
Also know as "The 66 Steps". This 102ft natural staircase was carved out of the limestone rocks by slaves in the late 1700's to commemorate the 66 year rule of Queen Victoria over her British Empire. Very beautiful, natural picturesque landscape. A must see!
At the top of The Queen's Staircase is Bennet's Hill. Here you will find Fort Fincastle and The Water Tower. This Fort was built in 1783 with limestone and slave labor by British Lord Dunmore to protect Nassau harbor from invasions by the Spaniards and French army. The views of Nassau harbor are a must see from the outside of the Fort. ($3 Admission to walk inside of the Fort)
John Watling's Distillery is a local Rum producer in The Bahamas. Our guest will have the opportunity to tour the compound with a guide from the distillery that will give you the full history of the John Watling's and their products. Guest also receive Free pina-colada samples with an option to purchase
Next, we travel west to the final destination of our tour, The “Fish Fry” at Arawak Cay. The name "Arawak Cay" is descended from the original inhabitants of these Bahama islands, the Arawak Indians. At the Fish Fry, guest have the option to sit and dine at the local restaurants and try some of our local cuisine like conch, lobster, and macaroni. Our guides will be sure to take you to the best restaurants with the best prices. Your tour ends with a guided tour back into the historic city of Nassau with drop-off back at your pick-up location.
Guest that do not wish to eat at the Fish Fry can chose to spend there remaining time at Junkanoo Beach which is next to the Fish Fry. The tour passes by the beach as we head back to the cruiseport so Guest can take photos.
2 Blocks down from the Cruiseport entrance is the icon 'Staw Market' which is basically a 'Flee market' for locally produced souvenirs, wood carvings, artwork, etc. Guest have the option to end the Tour at this market to continue browsing around Nassau and shop for souvenirs before they head back to the CruiseShip. Isaac was the best! So knowledgeable about the history. The stops were so fun. And the van was nice and cool!
Driver was knowledgeable and friendly. The van was air conditioned. Got to seen many sites and he knew about so much of city. Rum, wine , and chocolate tour was interesting. Would recommend.
Isaac (Bahama Papa) was such a great tour guide! He knew so much about Bahamas history, culture, and all the best local businesses. He was friendly with everyone and everyone seemed to know him too. We had time to explore some stops on our own and other stops he guided us through while giving us the history. The food and drink samples were small, but it was still fun to try all the local favorites. Highly recommend!
Isaac (BahamaPapa) was very friendly and entertaining. However, the tour van was old and not what we would expect on a $99 Viator tour.
Isaac was very personable, friendly, and professional. He is extremely knowledgeable about the island!!! We had a great day with him!!!!
We're glad you enjoyed it. Hoped to see you again soon 😊 ❤️
Our tour guide Nico was great. We were messaged via WhatsApp and email that we needed to meet our guide at a certain location at 9:30 when the tour was scheduled to start at 10:00. We weren’t scheduled to disembark our cruise until 9:30am and I put that in our reservation. So there was a delay in picking us up and other people who were on the same cruise which delayed the tour an hour from original schedule. No biggie for us. I enjoyed the stops but my only complaint is that we didn’t go to Atlantis which was part of the tour. I had to ask the tour guide because he didn’t mention a change to the schedule. I really wanted my husband to see Atlantis since this was his first visit to Nassau. So other than that, the tour was fun and informative and Nico was great and patient. He even had to take some people back to the cruise terminal while my husband and I, along with another family ate some authentic Bahamian cuisine.
We loved the experience of this tour, the guide Mr Bahamas Papa Isaac gave us a lot of history information while taking us for all the places, we had the opportunity to visit more than the places named in the tour. We got different examples including chocolates and wines tastes. 3 full hours of information and fun.
We toured with Isaac. We had a great tour. He was very knowledgeable about pretty much anything that you might want to know about Bahamian history, culture and people. I would definitely recommend him for this tour. Thank you, Isaac
Enjoyed our Nassau City Tour: 7 Attractions in the Bahamas with Isaac, who arrived timely and gave an excellent account of the history, attractions visited, and life in the Bahamas. Very attentive and assisted us in negotiating busy spots we visited. Good trip! Steve, Jenny Mike
Isaac (Bahama papa)was excellent. I use a walker and he was extremely helpful and patient. He provided historical background which framed what we saw. He also drove us around Nassau (not just standard tourist sites) and gave us a feel for the island residents. My 16 year old grandson enjoyed his jovial banter. Would recommend him without reservation.
