Itinerary
You will start the trip to Nagarkot before dawn. The drive is about one and a half hours to Nagarkot View Point. Nagarkot is a hill station which is famous for it's sunrise and sunset view with panoramic scenery. The drive will be through the local settlements surrounded by trees. As you reach the viewpoint, grab a little spot to enjoy the magnificent sunrise over the towering Himalayas. The perspective will give you a glimpse of 8 Himalayan ranges, including many snowy peaks like Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Annapurna, and even Mt. Everest from the point. You will observe the bright rays of sun touching the tip of mountains, turning them from bright orange and red to snowy white in color. You can also look below to find the incredible view of the valley and Indrawati river in the east. Take at the moment to observe such beautiful natural phenomena before descending to Changunarayan.
With such a beautiful mountain view, the trail is filled with a forest of pines, terraced farms of local villagers and a typical small village. The nature walk is fresh and refreshing, with a beautiful atmosphere around you. You will hike peacefully within the womb of nature till you find yourself in the small villages of Brahmin, Newars and Tamang community. You will then gradually cross the path taking on the graveled road and local trail to Changunarayan.
After you have enjoyed your moment there, you will follow an excellent path downhill. The trail offers a panoramic view of mountains along the way. You will be refreshed by the fresh mountain air and serene atmosphere along the way. You can see the Himalayan peaks from the corners of your eyes that are shining brightly because of the sun’s rays.
While we go to Nagarkot sunrise view and day hiking, you will visit this small beautiful place of Buddha peace park. One of the small statues of Lord Buddha, a nicely decorated garden with a beautiful view of across jungle is amazing. Take a rest for a while and enjoy taking a beautiful picture of hiking here.
Prepare to be amazed by a true masterpiece of Nepali history: the Changu Narayan Temple. As the oldest Hindu temple in the Kathmandu Valley, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a "living museum" of priceless art, with origins tracing back to the 4th-century Licchavi period. Perched on a scenic hilltop surrounded by Champak trees, this sacred site offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding valley. Your guide will lead you into a courtyard filled with artistic treasures. This is where you can see the finest wood and stone carvings in all of Nepal. Marvel at the temple's four entrances, each protected by a pair of mythical stone beasts. The courtyard is a gallery of ancient statues, including the iconic Garuda, the terrifying Narasimha, and the multi-armed Vishworup (a form of Lord Vishnu). Don't miss the legendary stone pillar bearing the oldest known Sanskrit inscription in Nepal. This is an essential, must-see stop for any lover of history, art, and culture.
The trip mainly departs from the main tourist hub from Thamel. If the customers are staying out of Thamel we do pick up them from most of the parts like the Lazimpat area, Durbar marg, Patan, Buddha, Bhaktapur, and Nagarkot itself. This trip is unique and amazing. Don't miss out to see Nepal's best sunrise view, the Himalayas including Mount Everest and local Nepali village lifestyle.

The team contacted me immediately after booking and kept confirming the timing before the trip. Even though I accidentally gave the wrong hotel address, the driver and staff were still very kind and quickly came to pick us up without any complaints. Our driver, Ganesh, arrived exactly at 4:00 AM and drove very safely through the mountain roads. Although the weather forecast showed rain, we decided to try our luck — and we were so happy we did! We were able to see a beautiful sea of clouds, part of the sunrise, and some amazing Himalayan views. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking. If you have limited time, this is a great experience to try. Of course, the weather cannot be controlled, so seeing Everest is not guaranteed, but it is definitely worth it!

A wonderful experience with Shishir Thapa and his driver. After a breathtaking sunrise, we set off on a 4-hour excursion through the countryside around Kathmandu. We were up super early for our hike with Shishir, our guide for the morning. Sadly, the weather was not in our favour and we never saw the Himalayas at sunrise from the lookout at Nagarcot. Afterwards, we opted to stop for an 'international' breakfast at a hotel which, in hindsight, turned out to be expensive and not worth the additional cost of 1600 rupees per person. I wish we'd gone for a cheaper, Nepalese breakfast, an option also offered to us. I very much wanted to experience more of Nepal as we were staying in the heart of Kathmandu with its bustling city vibe and the hike took us out of the city for an authentic experience of rural Nepal. We passed through small villages as the villagers went about their everyday business. We watched goats chewing on their breakfast; walked through forests of fir and eucalyptus trees; passed temples and monuments with some wonderful views over Kathmandu valley on our way to Changu Narayan, the oldest Hindu temple in Nepal. Shishir, our very charming Nepalese guide, shared a wealth of information with us along the way. We are a bit older (60's) and not as fit as many hikers, I'm sure, but this 4 hour hike was not too challenging and Shishir adjusted to our pace.

Last minute decision to do a solo trip for my birthday and what better way to start the day than with a morning sunrise! The day was just perfect and the guide Shishir had a big part in that! He was so very kind and really has a passion for teaching and nature and it was apparent in the hike/tour. After the sunrise, we had a wonderful local breakfast and then started our hike down the mountain (through villages and local temples) to Changunarayan Temple. I highly recommend this tour and with Shishir, you won't be disappointed! *TIPS* Bring plenty of water and light snacks as the tour is over 6 hours and temperatures do rise also dress in layers! Bring cash for breakfast, to shop near Changunarayan Temple (beautiful handmade art and carvings from locals) and tip for the guide/driver.

I had an absolutely unforgettable experience in Nepal, and a big part of that was thanks to this wonderful tour company. From start to finish, everything was well organized, smooth, and thoughtfully planned. Walking along the mountain trails was nothing short of magical. Every step revealed breathtaking views, peaceful landscapes, and a deep connection with nature that’s hard to put into words. The guides were knowledgeable, supportive, and made the entire trekking experience both safe and enjoyable. The highlight of the trip was without a doubt the sunrise experience. Watching the sun slowly rise over the mountains, with the peaks glowing in golden light, was truly awe-inspiring and emotional. It’s one of those moments that stays with you forever. I highly recommend this company to anyone planning a trip to Nepal. They didn’t just offer a tour—they created a once-in-a-lifetime experience filled with beauty, adventure, and unforgettable memories. 🌄🙏
