Myths of Maui Luau Dinner and Show

Description
An amazing sunset is just the beginning of a dazzling evening under the stars at Maui's longest-running luau, where beach-side seating, free-flowing drinks, all-you-care-to-eat buffet dinner, and authentic Polynesian dance combine for the perfect Hawaiian evening. Your evening begins with a cold beverage and photo opportunities as you enjoy watching the sun dip behind the horizon of the Pacific Ocean. The dinner buffet features authentic Hawaiian fare including kalua pork cooked in a traditional imu, an underground oven that cooks the meat to tender perfection. There's even a kids' buffet featuring chicken nuggets, hot dogs, and Maui potato chips. After dinner, the stage comes alive with rhythmic drumming, traditional Hawaiian, Tahitian, Samoan, and Maori performances and thrilling fire-knife dances. With vivid choreography and mesmerizing music, the show does more than entertain—it also tells the stories and legends of the islands.

AWESOME experience!! Setting and show were phenomenal. Service and drinks were also fantastic. Food was about what I expected for buffet style. Would definitely recommend this!!
Very good event. We wanted to do a Luau on our trip and I’m so glad we picked this one. Although we didn’t have children with us, the buffet had lots of choices if you have littles. The food and cocktails were wonderful and the show was amazing.
Food and drinks were good. Cruise could use tables for dinner. Also I would suggest a commentary of the geography and history of the region of the cruise. The water and sunset were beautiful. The wait staff was juneremarkable and took care of our needs.
we were just mind blown by the dance experience, but food was worst, we are vegetarian and the options were limited and not fresh, drinks were good. overall a good experience though pricey for what you get
We attended the Myths of Maui Luau on June 25 and overall had a great time. The entertainment was the highlight of the evening. The performers were fantastic, and our nieces and nephew absolutely loved the show—they were talking about it long after it ended. We purchased the VIP package, and the front-row seating was excellent. It gave us an incredible view of the performance. However, I’m not sure the VIP package is worth the extra cost beyond those seats. The premium cocktails didn’t seem noticeably different despite the upgraded liquor, and the premium tequila wasn’t listed on the menu. Our server had to check with the bar to find out which tequila was included. The food was the biggest disappointment. It was decent, but nothing memorable. The fish was especially rubbery. I had also looked at the menu on the website before booking and was really excited to try the advertised desserts—particularly the Ube Haupia Pie and Strawberry Guava Roll. Unfortunately, neither was served. Instead, dessert was pineapple upside-down cake and a white/yellow cake with chocolate frosting and coconut. They were fine, but not what was advertised. I also don’t recall seeing the Maui Gold pineapple listed on the menu, and no one else in our group (or my extended family’s separate reservation) remembers seeing it either. If the menu changes, I would strongly encourage the luau to update the website so guests know what to expect. I specifically chose this luau in part because the menu looked so appealing, so it was disappointing when several items weren’t available. One thing to note if you’re considering VIP: the front-row seats are in full sun before sunset, while some of the rows farther back actually had more shade. It’s not something the venue can control, but it’s worth knowing when deciding whether the upgrade is right for you. Overall, I’d absolutely recommend Myths of Maui for the show and the performers. If you’re going primarily for the entertainment, I think you’ll have a great time. Just go in with moderate expectations for the food, and unless front-row seating is important to you, I’d probably skip the VIP upgrade.
Thank you for attending Myths of Maui Luau and sharing such a thoughtful review. It’s wonderful to hear the show and our performers made a memorable impression on your family, Stephanie—their enthusiasm is exactly the kind of joy we hope to create. We are truly glad you all enjoyed the front-row experience, though we appreciate your feedback about the VIP package and the clarity around what was included. We are sorry the food and dessert offerings fell short of what you had anticipated, particularly given your excitement after viewing the menu online. Hearing that certain advertised items were not available—and that this happend for both your group and your extended family’s reservation—is something our culinary and Guest Relations teams take seriously. Accurate menus help guests plan their evening, and we recognize that consistency is important. Your point about the VIP seating and sun exposure is especially helpful and will assist future guests. Thank you again for the recommendation and for highlighting both the show’s strengths and the areas for improvement. We hope the next time you join us, the experience will be even more enjoyable.
The venue was perfect: easy to get to, park and access. I was pleasantly surprised by how organized the event was from check in, to lei greeting, to seating and my VIP seat was front row. It was worth the extra price. The food was superb: fresh, well made and ingredients balanced to meet the needs of different food preferences or dietary restrictions. The waiters were friendly, efficient and a delight. The show was absolutely breathtaking. The costumes, hair and make up aligned with the traditional Hawaiin culture giving the dancers authenticity. I truly enjoyed the solo dancers that were off the main stage and on the side stage. It was a sight to see ladies with elaborate costumes, wind blowing, sunset. It was amazing! I enjoyed the production. The fire dancing was the topper and of course the highlight of the show. It started off slow and ended with a high energy. I would not change a thing. I would return.
Wonderful show and so talented. Food selection was wide and Mai tais were fantastic! Would definitely recommend
This was such a fun and amazing experience! Food was fantastic! We had the pineapple chicken which was delicious. Bartender was super cool and let us take 2 drinks at a time. Last but not least, the performances were great! It was so cool following along with the stories and I love that they interacted with the crowd. I highly recommend this luau and we will definitely be coming back. Mahalo
Nicole, reading your review brought so much joy to our entire team! We are thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed the Myths of Maui luau, especially the pineapple chicken and lively performances. It's great that our bartender and performers helped make your experience truly memorable. We can't wait to welcome you back for another unforgettable evening!
Great show, good food, good drinks, good service. The general seating line to get in is long and it took about a half hour once it opened to get seated but there isn't a bad seat in the place. The buffet line was just two or three people and went as fast as a buffet line can go. Didn't need to get in the drink line because they will bring you drinks to your table. Overall. about as fun as a Luau can get. Enjoy.
Kevin, your enthusiasm truly comes through in your review, and we cannot thank you enough for sharing it! Our team is so pleased you enjoyed the show, food, and hospitality at Myths of Maui luau. We appreciate your patience with the seating process and are delighted that the rest of your evening was smooth and memorable. We would love to welcome you back for another unforgettable night!
This luau was wonderful! It took down a story telling path and where all different kinds of hula dancing originated from. Food was mediocre-ok , seemed to run out fast but the servers refilled buffet station. Drinks were fantastic! Very entertaining but also fun! Definitely a must see!
