Itinerary
Our first destination is Mt. Fuji, the highest and most iconic mountain in Japan. Our goal is to reach the highest accessible point on the mountain. From late spring to late fall, we typically visit the 5th Station, located at an elevation of 2,300 meters above sea level, where you can enjoy magnificent views of Mt. Fuji. From late November to mid-May, however, the 5th Station is closed due to snow. In that case, we visit one of the following alternative spots: the Mt. Fuji World Heritage Center, or the 1st, 2nd, or 4th Station.
You are going to experience a unique and delectable Japanese-style lunch at a restaurant in Gotemba City. A vegetarian option is also available.
After enjoying lunch, we will make a short stop at a hidden local viewing spot of Mt. Fuji called Gotemba Heiwa Park (Peace Park). The park features many unique structures and monuments, as well as beautiful cherry trees. If you are lucky enough to visit during cherry blossom season, you will be amazed by breathtaking views of pink blossoms set against the backdrop of Mt. Fuji.
Owakudani literally means "Great Boiling Valley," and it is a renowned volcanic valley known for its sulfur vents and black eggs, which are eggs cooked in hot spring water.
After enjoying our lunch, we will visit Hakone, one of the most famous hot spring resorts in Japan. Our first activity in Hakone is a scenic sky gondola ride. It is a one-way cable car ride that takes us to Owakudani Valley.
Our final activity is a lake cruise on a stunning pirate ship! Let's enjoy a 30-minute boat ride that provides beautiful views of Lake Ashi, the iconic Torii Gate, surrounding mountains, and, of course, Mt. Fuji!
Our last stop is Odawara Station. Passengers taking a bus back to Tokyo will have a 10-minute break at the station. Passengers opting for the Bullet Train, or those with a Japan Rail Pass, will board the Bullet Train at the station. Your tour guide will provide information on how to return to your hotel after disembarking from the Bullet Train at Tokyo Station.
The bullet train ride from Odawara Station to Tokyo Station takes approximately 35 minutes, and you will arrive at Tokyo Station between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m. The tour ends at Tokyo Station. If you need any assistance, your guide will be happy to help you with directions for local trains or subways, or point out the nearest taxi stand.

The pickup at our hotel was extremely convenient because it’s rather early to try to get somewhere else for pickup. We had a slightly late start, but our pickup guide Kyoko was there for us to keep us updated. She was very knowledgeable. The main tour guide, Yuki, was great, but they need to turn up the volume on the PA a little. Yuki kept us on track throughout the day. The driver Ono-san was accommodating and stopped to let us get pics of the peak during a moment of sunshine. Both kids and adults enjoyed the various stops. The bullet train return to Tokyo was a great opportunity to ride one. Would recommend.
Our tour guide, Mikami, was very knowledgeable about all of the places we went and added fun tutorials along the way. She kept everything on time and was extremely helpful in guiding us after the bullet train. Mt Fuji is amazing, Peace Park gorgeous, gondola ride exhilarating, and boat ride relaxing. Amazing day!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review. We are delighted to hear that you had such an enjoyable day exploring Mt. Fuji and Hakone with Mikami. Your kind words about her knowledge, enthusiasm, and dedication to keeping the tour running smoothly mean a great deal. We will be sure to share your compliments with her, and we know she will be thrilled to hear that her guidance and fun insights helped make your experience even more memorable. We're also pleased that you enjoyed the many highlights of the day—from the breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji and the beauty of Peace Park to the exciting gondola ride and relaxing cruise. Thank you for choosing to travel with us, and we hope to welcome you back for another memorable journey in Japan in the future.
Overall a great experience. This tour is best for tourists who would like to visit a variety of landmarks near Mt Fuji and Hakone before dinner time, but there is no brief hiking segment for Mt Fuji . Total trip took around six to seven hours. This guided tour cost about $160 per adult, which seems fair given the tour guide, bus driver, optional lunch meal, and admission tickets to account for. The Mt. Fuji stop may feel slightly short, there is no brief hiking course involved. The optional Japanese-style lunch felt very much like a comforting, home-cooked meal. The Pirate Boat Lake Cruise segment may feel out of place, but Lake Ashi was wonderful and the ship is practically brand new with plenty of observation decks provided for some fantastic views. The tour guide kept people engaged with interesting facts about the landmarks of this tour and Japan in general throughout the bus ride. I strongly recommend reading the details of the tour itinerary to better understand the overall scope of this tour and the depth of each stop. Our tour group had plenty of vacant bus seats, enough for us to sit wherever we wanted. If seeing Mt Fuji is your main priority, try to hold off on booking until you can check the most accurate weather forecast. I’d recommend checking the 24-to-48-hour visibility index or live camera feeds right before you reserve your spot. This tour is not for you if you expect to climb Mt Fuji even for a brief moment.
Thank you very much for your amazing 5-star review and for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your experience on our tour. Your review is extremely helpful not only to us, but also to future guests who are considering a Mt. Fuji bus tour among the many options available. We truly appreciate your support. We are also curious to know who your guide was, as your review did not mention their name. We would love to share your kind comments with them. As you may know, Mt. Fuji can sometimes be quite shy and hide behind clouds, which can be disappointing for visitors hoping to see the mountain in all its glory. However, even when visibility is not ideal, our experienced guides always do their best to make the day enjoyable, informative, and memorable. We are delighted to hear that you had a wonderful experience. Thank you again for choosing our tour. We sincerely hope to welcome you back to Japan in the near future and have the pleasure of serving you again.

It was raining when we left Tokyo, so I wasn't expecting much. I told myself that even if we couldn't see Mt. Fuji, I would just enjoy the day trip. The guide was very friendly and shared lots of interesting information during the bus ride, which made the journey enjoyable. To our surprise, the weather improved as we got closer to Mt. Fuji. When we reached the 5th Station, the clouds had cleared and we had an amazing view of the mountain. Seeing Mt. Fuji appear after such a gloomy start made the experience even more special. It turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip to Japan.
Thank you so much for your kind review. We're delighted to hear that what began as a rainy day turned into such a memorable experience for you. Mt. Fuji has a way of surprising us, and we're very happy that the clouds cleared in time for you to enjoy those beautiful views from the 5th Station. We wish you many more wonderful memories from your travels and hope to welcome you again in the future.

We were picked up at our hotel and then experienced many different activities which was excellent. Should note that Gotemba Peace Garden is on top of a very steep hill. Only challenge for us was understanding the guide. He was very nice, helpful.
