Well done. Very informative and interesting. The house was well worth the lines. Employees were very friendly
The bus had a lot of vibrations. Probably motor mounts or bearings. Otherwise it was clean and comfortable. Kind of tacky at the end of trip for driver to be begging for tops. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. Probably won’t use your company again because of bus vibrating.
The tours is primarily self guided on uneven ground. We came during the heat wave, so it was a little difficult, but thankfully, yhere was a shuttle to take to the wharf. The 4D movie is a must! Bobby, our driver, was very entertaining and funny. He made our trip therr and back very enjoyable.
The actual experience at Mt. Vernon was fantastic. It was the poor touring company, Lobos Tours, that was unsafe and unprofessional. I have booked this same tour, through Viator, 2 years ago and had a fabulous experience. This was a different tour company and it was pathetic. The driver showed up and we had too many people booked for the size van he brought. We all had our tickets, so it was the tour company’s negligence. Instead of calling for a larger bus, he had kids sitting on laps of adults. If it was my child, I wouldn’t have tolerated it. Not only that, but these were children on a group tour without their parents. The adult chaperones should have insisted on a different vehicle. On top of this, at least 2 seatbelts that I saw were cut off and not even available. I’m not sure how this tour company keeps its’ license. I have pictures of the cut off seatbelts and would have uploaded for evidence, if that was an option. The driver, Franco, was not at all safe. He drove out of his lane, had many people honking at him, blew through a couple of stop signs, and made for a very unsafe experience. I was horrified about the whole situation. Viator would be wise to discontinue using Lobos Tours and they should not be allowed to conduct tours if they can have a safe vehicle and obey the road laws.
Although the tour guide was very knowledgeable and attentive, the transport van was lower end and cramped - two of the seat belts did not function bc their anchors were absent (appeared to have been removed). The time alotted before returning to the van was not quite enough to see all on the grounds.
Driver was knowledgeable and tried to keep us entertained! Kind enough to drop several of us off at the Union Station instead of the Hyatt.
Robert was very friendly, interesting, and informative. What more could you ask for in a tour guide?! My only suggestion would be to change the time from 11-4 to 10-3, DC traffic at 4PM is not fun. As much as he tried to take us on an alternate less busy route, I think it still would be better if you left Mount Vernon earlier.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable. Knew the area and its history very well. We enjoyed our time walking around Mount Vernon!
If you want to really see and experience Mt. Vernon don’t take this tour because you only have 3 hours. The attraction needs more time to see everything.
Our tour guide was good. Provided history and information in an entertaining way. I enjoyed seeing the house and grounds. We could have used a little more time to see everything.
