After the sunrise, we will climb downhill and visit the monastery of St. Catherine. Around noon we will be back in Sharm el-sheik. Visit the Monastery of Saint Catherine which is considered one of the most famous monasteries in the world and also it’s one of the oldest monasteries of Christianity. It’s located in heart of the Sinai Peninsula at a height of 1570 meters in the place where according to tradition Moses saw the bush on fire which didn’t burn up. The Monastery is Orthodox and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The monastery dates back to the age of the emperor Justinian 6th century. It was the same time of building enclosure wall surrounding the monastery right now but the monastery was named Saint Catherine at the beginning of the 11th century in honor of saint Catherine, one of the earliest Alexandria Christians martyrs. It contains several monuments like the burning bush seen by Moses and the remarkable Icons Gallery.

I love hiking and the Bible. So why wouldn't I love this trip? Please be sure to bring good shoes, flashlight, sunscreen (or protective clothing), and a light jacket. I would totally do this again!
Tariq and Muhammed, splendid guys. The trip felt very safe and also adventurous. I would trust them to take me anywhere. The hike itself was pretty great and accessible to most hikers.
Sunrise on Mount Moses is a phantastic experience. Highly recommended! Unfortunately, the impressive St. Catherine's monastery was closed for church holiday. And the guides did not explain a lot about the history and places in general - neither on the bus nor on the mountain. Maybe this was due to their poor language skills (both in Russian and in English), but it was sad nevertheless. A previous experience with a Getyourguide tour of Gizeh was absolute the opposite. Good: excellent new Mercedes tor bus with very comfortable seats. In a nutshell: a phantastic place, but little input besides the nature.
