Mount Kilimanjaro via Umbwe Route 6 days Climb

Description
Umbwe route: The umbwe route is a short, steep and direct route. It is considered to be very difficult and is the most challenging way up Mount Kilimanjaro. Due to the quick ascent, Umbwe does not provide the necessary stages for altitude acclimatization. Although the traffic on this route is very low, the chances of success are also low. The route is offered at a minimum of six days, though seven days is recommended when attempting this route. The Umbwe route should only be attempted by those who are very strong hikers and are confident in their ability to acclimatize.

The day started out with a beautiful, clear sunrise but we were ready to conquer and made it to the top. The beginning of a long outbound after stepping on the top of the top. I woke up at 21 the day before, climbed 4600m to 5900m, and went down to the camp at 3100m at once. I arrived from 14 to 16 well it’s been a long day. Starting in rainforest we’d worked our way into moorland, led by our amazing guide Albert. Before starting the climb we had to weigh all our personal gear, which couldn’t exceed 35lbs per person. Porters would do the lion’s share of the work, hauling tents, chairs, cooking gear and food plus the rest of our staff like cold weather gear. Everyday camp was set up and broken down in the morning, to move to the next site. The last day of the next day, the guide, the cooker, and the porters showed off the dance before the departure. It was a very cheerful and exciting dance. It was the last fun time to find monkey on the way while descending to Mweka gate approximately 5 hours to Moshi town where we went back to our hotel and I said bye-bye to our guides. It’s been a long 6 days Umbwe Route….(tears) with great company of porters and guide, later on finally I received the Kilimanjaro climbing Certificate from Exceed Expectations Tours staff who also wish me luck and welcomed me again to Tanzania. My drive take me back to this small but beautiful airport where I returned home. I really appreciate how I was treated and I felt like everything was prepare even before I arrived, to be honest this company deserver a medal. The great service ever in my life, amazing crew.
