Our cooking class took place directly in a Moroccan family. We were allowed to cook in a beautifully furnished apartment. Everything was clean and prepared. We were allowed to cook couscous with vegetables and chicken. Khadija and Mohammed were great hosts and gave us a wonderful evening. Khadija showed us how to prepare it, while Mohammed treated us with tea and cookies in between as we waited for cooking steps. They worked harmoniously as a team, and we had a wonderful exchange over many hours. The food tasted so delicious, we will cook it in Germany as soon as our large Moroccan plate arrives. We love Morocco and the hospitality one encounters there. Thank you both for this delightful evening, and if you come to Germany, we look forward to treating you to a Swabian dish. Warm regards from the four of us: Benschamin, Laila, Angi, and Andreas
Mohammed and Khadija are very kind and welcoming hosts. I would highly recommend this to experience authentic Moroccan food and hospitality, where you really feel welcome in the country and culture:)
In addition to learning Moroccan cuisine, we had a pleasant time with Khadija and Mohammed.
A big thank you for the warm welcome, kindness, and sharing of this expertise. I highly recommend this activity to those who wish to experience a true moment of discovery during their stay in Essaouira!
We had a wonderful experience with Khadija & her husband. Was only myself & my husband which made it even more more intimate. We had an incredibly warm welcome into their beautiful home and learned a lot about Moroccon cooking in general and specifically learned how to cook vegetable & kofta tagines. And as an incredible bonus, Khadija taught us how to make harcha bread as I'd asked about some tips for cooking it. We had a great time and spent some time chatting whilst enjoying the food we had cooked. Cannot recommend this enough. It was a fantastic evening. Thank you again.
If I had one word to describe this experience, it would be: authentic. Khadija welcomed us like her own family. She explained to us how to make tagines and some traditional Moroccan salads. She also provided the recipes for our prepared dishes as well as others. The entire activity was filled with interesting discussions. Her big heart is evident through the many gifts that delighted our taste buds (tea, cakes, seasonal fruits). She was attentive and understanding throughout. I highly recommend the activity; it was a highlight for my friend and me, both for the delicious cuisine and for her and her very endearing husband.
What a memorable evening! Khadija welcomed us in her beautiful home and taught us how to prepare and cook a delicious chicken lemon and vegetarian tajine. We also had mint tea and biscuits while having great conversations in her living room. We received the recipes afterwards and will definitely try this at home! I'm so glad I chose to do this class, I felt at home and definitely recommend this experience! Shukran Khadija for making my day a special one!
What a wonderful time we had with this wonderful couple. We joined in to make 2 tagines and a salad. We had such great conversation and so much insight into the cuisine and culture.
We had a very nice afternoon during our cooking class, the host explained everything well step by step and afterwards we were allowed to eat or take everything! We also received documents afterwards with all recipes written in, in short highly recommended!
This was a super experience from start to finish. We were greeted by Kadija and her friendly assistant at her home in Essaoura, close to the promenade. Kadijas directions were accurate and most helpful. We immediately got started, preparing a chicken tajine and a vegetarian tagine. Kadija explains every step and allowed photos and videos. The ingredients were really fresh and the spices were amazing. We also prepared a Moroccan salad. When the tajines were cooked we retired to the living room and enjoyed a full Moroccan dinner. Water, Salad, Tajine, rice, homemade bread, Moroccan pastries, tea, and dessert. Kadija also gave us pastries to bring home. We enjoyed conversation on culture, religion, family and current topics. We felt so comfortable with Kadija and her house is very clean. Overall everything was super and the hospitality was a credit to Morocco!! We strongly recommend this experience. Do it, you won't regret it.
