Jose our tour guide was great. He gave us all the info we needed for a short visit with plenty of options of what we wanted to see. I also liked the liqueur and cookies but silly that we had to choose - it was not as big a deal as described. Overall I would highly recommend. This is my 3rd trip to Barcelona and I am so happy I finally made the time to do this. Next time, the train to the top or walk the mission trail to the cross. Thank you.
Meeting place directions were spot-on, and Rafael did a tremendous job of setting us up for success. The bus ride was comfortable, and the guide on the bus speakers was funny and informative. Montserrat was pleasant and charming, and the views of the surrounding mountains were striking. We saw the black Madonna and went up the Santa Joao funicular, both of which were an extra charge that we didn’t expect, but that could’ve been our misunderstanding.
This was a fantastic tour to Monserrat with the cogwheel train and Black Madonna. Jose our tour guide was great. He provides information and interesting history along the whole tour. Lots of free time to see and explore.
Our day trip to Montserrat was truly unforgettable. The entire experience with Julia Travel was seamless and well-organized, making it easy to simply enjoy the day. Jonathan, our guide, was fantastic. He was engaging, knowledgeable, and thoughtful in how he brought the history and significance of Montserrat to life. What stood out most, though, were the incredible views. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, and there’s a peacefulness to the mountain that you feel the moment you arrive. We had plenty of free time to explore, which made a big difference. Sitting quietly in the chapel and seeing the Black Madonna of Montserrat was a deeply moving and spiritual moment, one of the most memorable parts of the entire trip. I highly recommend taking the funicular to the top for even more stunning views, it’s well worth it. Overall, this tour offered the perfect mix of guidance, flexibility, natural beauty, and meaningful experiences.
Well organized and plenty of time to explore Monserrat Beautiful environment and easy to get to. Enjoyed the visit
We have taken many tours and we were disappointed in this one. To offer constructive criticism, we found the audio ear pieces to be extremely frustrating. They didn’t fit or stay on our ear properly, we were constantly having to fidget with/adjust them. We also found it very challenging to hear our guide because we weren’t able to block out the noise from the other ear. Our guide provided good information but we felt like we could have learned more. We felt like our guide needed to identify himself in some way to stand out. We often had a hard time finding him in the crowd. Other than the transportation and tickets for entry, we don’t feel like there was a lot of value in the experience for the price we paid.
A great tour for our group of 11, across 3 families and a mix of adults and 3 kids. Highly recommend the afternoon tour as the monastery was next to empty and the sunset lighting was great. The only drawback was that the restaurants and gift shops were closed by the time we were ready to use them. Taking the train did add to the waiting time, but made for a relaxing trip.
We were met by our guide Marta at the prearranged area, she guided us through all the necessary steps to arrive at our location and told us interesting facts about the surrounding area on our way to Monserrat. She is very knowledgeable on Monserrat and gave us plenty of time to explore the church and area. Marta is a wonderful guide!!
Martha is a very personable and knowledgeable person We very much enjoyed our visit and her company Thank you Martha Marie Paule & Louis. From Canada
Great tour- lots of heavy walking and light hiking - great guide and we had tons of info from her around the area and the locations we visited.
