Had a great time on this tour. Our hiking guide Barnet was great about making sure our group was safe and provided lots of information about the mountain and animals. The hike itself is definitely a moderate hike but doable. The toughest part is the heat itself. I’d recommend the tour (if in the summer) start an hour earlier and go straight to hiking and finish at the basilica instead. All in all, I’m glad we went!
Visiting the monastery was amazing. The buildings, the campus and the chapel are incredibly beautiful and ornately detailed. The view from the mountain was spectacular! I deducted one star because there should have been a disclaimer in the description about how incredibly steep the uphill climb is. You have to be very athletic to do this hike. This is not for the average visitor. Our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable but she was way too fast and she did not schedule water/resting breaks. We had to stop on our own before she realized that we needed water breaks. Other than that, the experience was amazing.
Christian was our guide for this Montserrat trip. Christian was knowledgable, added lots of context to our journey, and kept us safe & on time with the hike. Christian did a great job making it clear how long we'd have to explore each place, and where to meet back. The hike was not too strenuous, and had various break points to talk about the scenery and history. Very well done!
really enjoyed getting to explore the trails around Montserrat and learn about the surrounding area. was super fun and genuinely would go again.
Great hike! Definitely need your hiking shoes or boots as the terrain is rough and the rain makes parts of it slippy. Our guide Bernat was fantastic! Couldn’t imagine a better guide to have. My son and I had a great day.
Tour was excellent. Sandra, our guide was excellent. Good pace during the tour. Very informative. Highly recommend.
Sandra was a wonderful guide. We had a fabulous experience. The hike is challenging with a long uphill climb at the beginning. We enjoyed the entire tour but the hike is probably only for people wanting the challenge it is not a paved trail for a portion of it. The monastery was beautiful and the Catalan history that Sandra shared was very interesting.
Jordy was a great tour guide. History and visit to the monastery followed by a hike of around 3 miles and 1000 ft. gain. We were fortunate to finish the hike before some fog rolled in. Gorgeous views!
Eugenia was great! Fairly easy hike but people should come prepared with proper shoes. Great views, interesting geological lessons and just all around knowledge. Thank you Eugenia for a wonderful day
Very friendly and competent guide. It was a great experience and the sights around the monastery are marvelous.
