We had an amazing day with Andy. He was so engaging and thoughtful. We absolutely loved the tour and the chats and the visit to Montserrat.
Pao was an amazing addition to the day! He treated my family with respect and kindness. The days adventure was filled with historical facts and fun.
Paulo was an awesome guide. He was interesting, knowledgeable, and fun to hang out with. He was great with my Nephew who has Downs Syndrome. I felt like we hit all the key pints of the site also. Thanks for a great experience Juan
We were excited for our journey to Montserrat and it did not disappoint. We had a private tour with Paolo. He arrived early at hour hotel and provided us with bottled water for the day. He chatted amicably, educating us on the history and beauty of Montserrat. He provided information that prepared us for our visit. Upon arrival, he dropped us off and parked the car to save walking. He was kind and thoughtful taking my husband's mobility issues into consideration. He took photos and did not seem bothered at all. He walked us to the the line to enter the church and then waited outside until we were done telling us to take our time and not rush. When we met up, he presented us with small cards to commemorate our visit that had a medal of the Black Madonna of Montserrat as a gift. He stopped whenever we needed drinks and kept a good pace while walking to the cross from the church/ he never made my husband feel awkward due to his slow gait. He allowed us plenty of time in the gift shop and the farmer's market. On the return, we viewed the opposite side of the mountain and had a safe journey back to the hotel. I would highly recommend the tour and Paolo in particular.
Do not miss seeing this majestic place. The Black Madonna, the country side, mountains and church are memorable. Our tour guide Pau was outstanding, knowledgeable, friendly and a good driver.
Even though the weather was rainy and cold, my tour and day was truly amazing! Andy was absolutely a joy! We had so much fun, he was very knowledgeable and helpful- he had so many recommendations and insights… find Andy if you need a private guide in Barcelona!!!!
Our guide Pau was very knowledgeable and worked hard to take care of his customers. I was not sure what the actual Montserrat site would be like - it was a number of trails and buildings and monuments with spectacular views. Pau did a great job of working us through the history and importance of each piece. He also arranged for us to hear the boys choir sing from the atrium even though we did not have a ticket to go inside. He did a great job.
From the moment Pau greeted us at the Meeting Point in Barcelona we felt totally at ease with his friendly disposition and incredible knowledge of all things about Barcelona and the Catalan region as we travelled to Montserrat. This extended to his incredible knowledge of the history of Montserrat as he escorted us through this stunningly beautiful place. We never felt rushed and Pau led us at a leisurely pace while imparting his knowledge of the area in relaxed conversation.
Our tour of Montserrat was truly the highlight of our time in Barcelona, and that’s largely thanks to our incredible guide, Andy Reyes. From start to finish, Andy delivered a seamless, engaging, and genuinely memorable experience. His knowledge of Montserrat’s history, culture, and spiritual significance was outstanding. He brought every story to life with just the right mix of detail and personality, making the entire tour both educational and enjoyable. You could tell he’s deeply passionate about what he does—and it absolutely shows. What really set Andy apart was his attentiveness and pacing. He made sure we never felt rushed, allowing us to fully take in the breathtaking views, explore the basilica, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the mountain. He also provided great tips on the best photo spots and hidden gems we wouldn’t have discovered on our own. Andy was professional, friendly, and incredibly organized—everything you’d want in a top-tier guide. If you're planning a visit to Montserrat, I cannot recommend him highly enough. This wasn’t just a tour—it was an experience we’ll be talking about for years to come! Highly recommend—5 stars all the way!
Beautiful monastery and church. The Black Madonna. Wear comfortable shoes if you want to walk out to the observation spot since it’s all uphill. Pau was wonderful, considerate and extremely knowledgeable.
