Itinerary
The Panoramic Viewpoint, located almost 80 meters high, reveals one of the most complete and emblematic views of the capital. This place worked for the first time in 1979; where its restaurant and cafeteria were stages of different social events.
The beaches of Montevideo are bordered by a boulevard of almost 30 kilometers long that makes the coast one of the most distinguished attractions of the city. It`s one of the main open spaces to which the Montevideans go daily to walk and practice sports.
This open public space is a frequent meeting point for Malvinas and Punta Gorda residents. It`s located on a boulevard that offers the visitor a panoramic view of the Río de la Plata. In addition to the sunset, one of the points worth stopping to visit is a curious bronze sculpture, located on one of the edges of the ravine. The sculpture expresses the struggle for life at sea through circular figures, stars, marine animals and hands that seek to hold onto a ship. At about two meters, a gray granite plaque reads "Monument to the Fallen in Service Act of the Navy", hence its current name is "Plaza de la Armada".
Carrasco is a neighborhood located about 15 kilometers from the center of the city, to the southeast of it. The neighborhood became the most luxurious residential area in Montevideo, where the upper class of the city lives. The Boulevard of Montevideo finds in Carrasco one of its most successful manifestations from the landscape point of view. Strolling along Avenida Arocena, perpendicular to the river, where most of the neighborhood's shops and restaurants are located.
Located south of Italia Avenue, and north of Rivera Avenue, two of the most important arteries of Montevideo, is the Batlle Park neighborhood, named after the large green lung that is incorporated in the center of the area. It is framed by neighborhoods with a different dynamism from what it has, such as Tres Cruces, Pocitos or La Blanqueada, and it has a very peculiar architecture.
When traveling through the Old City we find colonial, baroque and classic buildings of great architectural and heritage value. In its origins, the site was residential, but over the years it was occupying offices and shops, and becoming the center of financial activity in the country. Going through it takes us back in time, and forces us to breathe an air as old as cozy. The fronts of each building deserve hours of contemplation; no doubt the masons of that time were true artists with their spoons and spatulas.
The building in which the Legislative Power operates, always known as the Legislative Palace, is undoubtedly the most important testimonial example that the country has, of a beautiful and balanced neo-classical architecture, of strong Greek inspiration in the set of its facades exterior, efficient functional design, and dazzling in the design of some of its interior spaces and decoration.
It`s a new tourist spot in the city and a different activity for the whole family, where all the senses play with the freshness and history of the place. The renewed Mercado Agrícola de Montevideo is the first Retail Mall specialized in the sale of non-perishable and fresh foods, that have the city`s identity impregnated, and where you will find exotic products and a gourmet proposal. Its proposal consists of a complete range of fruit and vegetables, fresh food, natural specialties, gastronomy and complemented by a range of products and services, which makes it a unique place.

Our guide Carolina and driver Jaime were great. We hit all the major points throughout the city and surrounding beach communities. It's a long day from Buenos Aires and back - but they walked us through every step of the tour from getting on and off the ferry in Montevideo to getting us back to our hotel at the end. Great way to check off the box for Uruguay!
Very friendly, informative tour giving to history, politics, gardens and pars of Uruguay. Visited interesting markets and beautiful statues.
It was an excellent tour. All arrangements were good. Carolina was an excellent guide, taking the time to explain the history of all the sights and also of Montevideo and Uruguay in general. Jorge was also an excellent driver. Everything was done well and very professionally.
Great overview of the highlights of Montevideo. Our guide was fantastic as she asked us what we wanted to focus on and was very knowledgeable of a wide range of subjects.
We had an amazing time with Andrea and Manuel! I highly recommend this tour. It may seem daunting or expensive, but it was neither! We got an amazing feel for the city, a very knowledgeable guide, amazing food (loved the parrilla), and many memories.
There needs to be better communication between the team members. There was some confusion about the ferry terminal, and the driver picked me up half an hour late. He helped me board the ferry, which would be difficult since I don't speak Portuguese. A long ferry ride and then the tour guide and driver met me at Montevideo. Basically, they will take you wherever you want to go. Paola, the guide, was knowlegible and did a great job. I didn't see it in the description, but they don't drop you off at the same ferry. They took me to a chaotic bus terminal with thousands of people, and left me to figure it out. The 2 hour bus ride took me to another long ferry ride, which also arrived late. Fortunately, the driver waited for me. It may not have been his fault, but I couldn't communicate with him until we docked. A very long day. Nice tour. Not worth $700+.
The tour was very organised and the sights were beautiful. We saw everything we wanted to see! It was very easygoing, would recommend to anybody!
Uruguay was a lot of fun. Our tour guide truly made the experience enjoyable and educational. We had a great time. The return (night) ferry ride was VERY long for some unknown reason.

The excursion was very well organized from pick-up to final drop-off. Business class ferry tickets were purchased with enabled us to avoid lines. Bea, the tour guide, was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend the day with. Great tour and we learned a lot.

The trip is well organized. Both Argentina and Uruguay guide, they have smooth connection for picking up at the port terminal. Our guide in Uruguay is very nice and knowledgeable, she told us the history, same time also the funny story, it totally made the full day trip more interesting. A little bit pricy, but worthy for a 1 days country visit.
