Leave in the morning directly from your hotel and in less than 2 hours reach the characteristic town of Montepulciano. Built in 1500 along a narrow ridge of limestone, known all over the world for its imposing Renaissance palaces, for the elegant beauty of its churches and mostly for the Vino Nobile, one of the most appreciated Tuscan wines all over the world. Free time for visits.
In late morning through wonderful landscapes, reach another pearl of the Val d’ Orcia area: the ancient Pienza. This is one of the most beautiful Tuscan towns, rare example of Renaissance architecture brought to completion. Considered for long time the ‘ideal city’, and birthplace of Pope Pius II, it represents today one of the practical ways through which during Renaissance men tried to create an ideal model of life and government on earth. Free time for lunch and visits.
In early afternoon we’ll continue to reach the last town of the day: Montalcino, famous throughout the world especially for the origin of one of the finest wines in the world: Brunello di Montalcino. Perched on a hill on which the mighty fourteenth century fortress rises still today. Free time for visits and (why not?) for a glass of the famous Brunello wine!. Return to your accommodation in the late afternoon with full bellies, a happy heart and great memories…

Alex was extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to provide us with an exceptional experience. He was extremely knowledgeable and easy to converse with. Overall it was a great day and one we will always remember. Highly recommend.
This was a unique opportunity to immerse ourselves in the local culture of medieval Tuscan towns. We enjoyed the architecture and history of the 16th century buildings while also viewing the foundations underneath dating back to 500BC. We learned about the wine-making process and sampled many local wines. The views of the countryside were spectacular as were the views from these elevated small villages.

Massimo was a great guide. He arrived on time, all 7 of us were seated comfortable. The van was really clean. Safe driver and gave us lots of time at each stop. Let us be the leaders of the time. Would definitely repeat and recommend. He was a lot of fun!

Highly recommend Tuscany in Tour. We booked 5 day excursions from Florence. Our drivers, Mossimo & Alesandro were wonderful. They both provided a wealth of information,recommendations & were very accommodating. We preferred a private driver over a regimented tour group that offers minimal flexibilitiy & very little opportunity to explore on your own. If we finished early or wanted a few extra minutes they remained close by so we could just text them. Had we used a regimented tour group, we would have missed out on an immersive, slow travel experience.

Sonny is a good man, knowledgeable and we enjoyed him very much. All you could ask for in a driver. The only negative; this trip is a full day and you really need more time in Pienza and Montepulciano. I'd leave off Montalcino!

For wine lovers Montalcino is really a must as this is the place where is produced the famous Brunello wine!... What a wonderful excursion. Just magical. Our driver/guide Massimo was the best. He works for Tuscany in Tour. His van was so comfortable. He was a great driver and a wonderful guide. Very personable. Just a beautiful guy. He made the whole experience very special. Montalcino and the wine tasting was superb. Little snacks were fresh and delicious. The Brunello was spectacular. Pienza was a marvelous little town. Montepulciano was bigger but still enjoyable. This was a highlight experience of our entire week in Tuscany.
