Mindo Cloud Forest Experience THE CUSTOMIZELY ONE from Quito
Description
We departure from Quito 7:00 am heading to the occident side of the city. We will have a busy day with some physical exercise & hiking. Our first stop will be at a hummingbirds sanctuary good experience and close view to tons of types of hummingbirds. Second stop: Alternative traditional breakfast Our next stop: MINDO! our main cloud forest city. Once there we will head straight to the Cable car (Tarabita) to cross with amazing views of this cloud forest. Once in the other side, we will have a 40 minutes hiking to the Mindo Nambillo waterfall. Place where you will be able to swim and fresh up from the hiking trail. So bring a bathing suit and towel if interested. After this, we can choose one alternative option, butterflies sanctuary or chocolate factory, Zipline (Tickets not included) To take advantage of the day we highly recommend the breakfast or bringing a box lunch to avoid missing time in the activities. After this we will start the way back to Quito

Hummingbirds sanctuary
Our main destination. Mindo is an small beautiful spot nestled in the cloud forest.
Place where we will pass from one side of the high area or Mindo to the font mountain where our hike to the waterfalls will take place. Right in the middle of the cloud forest.
A butterfly sanctuary spot. Extra cost / tickets per person $10
We will have a short stop if interested on buying a delicious dark chocolate brownie or bars before departure back to Quito

I absolutely loved this tour, from the flexibility of the activities, through the friendliness, it was a great experience. I was so impressed with the variety of birds we saw, the change of scenery when reaching the amazonian type wilderness and the warmth of the people around us. I chose the chcolate optional and the small hike to the waterfall. (Around 100 metres of elevation up and down). The choice of chocolate was amazing and the tour on site very interesting. I cannot miss mentioning Jorge who's engaging conversation kept me awake even despite the 2 hour journey which is a feat that not many can manage. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Our experience with Jose as our guide was excellent! He was very knowledgeable about his country and Mindo and spoke English well which was helpful for our group of three. We started at the hummingbird experience which we found to be magical! The waterfall hike was beautiful and took about two hours. We also chose the 3 zip line activity nearby which we enjoyed even in the rain! Finally we visited Yumba’s Chocalate store. We learned about the process of making chocolate and got to taste a variety of flavors. I highly recommend this tour!

The tour itself and venues visited were awesome. The guide was not very knowledgeable and did not accompany on the hike to the waterfalls.

We try to give Freedom to the participants depending on everyone's personalities to avoid rushing up during the waterfalls stop or sometimes some people feel uncomfortable if they need to change their clothes to swim. But appreciate your review.
Great tour as the ride was smooth and the experiences were fun. I really enjoyed the hummingbird sanctuary and the tarzan jump.

Organization and pickup worked great and the drive to Mindo was relaxed and was accompanied by Jose with information about city and co. The hummingbird station at the beginning was wonderful; we also spotted other birds but unfortunately missed the toucan. A stop at a butterfly plant (under a net, but you can see the species in the surroundings and while hiking quite well, don't stop in number). The cable car ride and hike to the waterfalls is the highlight - with the hiking trails it should be noted that they are quite different in their claim. Back we stopped at a chocolate factory with tasting and traffic jam - maybe knowing - the route to Mindo leads to the nearest beach of Quito. Accordingly, it gets crowded there on the weekend.

If you are visiting Quito, this tour is a must!! Jose was such an amazing guide, super knowledgeable and a fantastic conversationalist. From the ride to Mindo and back we had great discussions and he went into great detail about the Mindo region and Ecuador itself. As for the tour itself, I experienced things I had never seen in my life. The hummingbirds, the massive butterflies, walking through the cloud forest to get to hidden waterfalls, ziplining and much much more. There are many other additional add-ons that you can choose from which make this a very customizable experience. Keep up the fantastic work you do and I truly appreciated the effort put into this excursion.

Jose was amazing! Very friendly and knowledgeable - he spent the day explaining Ecuador, his life, and Mindo. We had a wonderful time talking to him all day and he drove us to all the spots well. The hummingbird sanctuary was amazing and the butterfly sanctuary as well. I highly recommend the chocolate tour afterwards. The hike was hilly, but well worth it!
