Join us for a leisurely stroll through Savannah's Historic District as we go by locations featured in the book. Here the real stories and see the real photos of these characters from the book that helped put Savannah's tourism on the map. In addition to the locations listed, we also stop by the home where John Berendt lived when he first arrived in Savannah, along with Joe Odom's House, the home of Helen Drexel (Serena Dawes in the book and the film), as well as a few other locations.

Itinerary
We stop outside here to discuss Jim Williams, Sony Seiler, as well as Wiliam Simon Glover and Patrick, the dog. Sonny was Jim's lawyer during the second, third, and fourth trials.
We stop outside here to discuss the story of Luther Driggers (Maurice Elmore Fetzer, Jr.) and how he relates to the book. He would eat breakfast here every morning.
We stop outside here to discuss Jim Williams and his contributions to Savannah. We discuss the events that led up to the murder of Danny Hansford. We do not enter the Mercer House, however they do have their own tour inside the home.
We stop outside here to discuss Nancy Hillis (known as Mandy Nichols in the book and Mandy Dawes in the film). We talk about Joe Odom and his many fly by night business schemes.
We stop by the front entrance here to discuss William Simon Glover, Minerva, and Patrick the dog.

This is a great walking tour if you’re going though in June or summer make sure you bring a water or a fan does get a little bit hot and steamy. Ryan was fabulous. Very knowledgeable. Loved all of his insights and personal pictures of the real people that the books about love that it was so historically correct!

Our tour guide was exceptional. If you loved the book, don't miss this tour because you will learn so much about it, as well as the history of Savannah. Be prepared to walk on uneven surfaces and don't forget to eat lunch at Clary's after the tour.
