Ariel was out super cool guide 😎. What an AWESOME walking tour through Little Havana! 🇨🇺✨ We started at El Cristo with a delicious carne molida empanada, learned how “Cohiba” comes from the native Taíno word “cojoba” connected to tobacco, and stopped at the iconic Piñatuelos fruit stand serving Miami since 1962 🍍🥭. We then had pastelitos de guayaba and cream cheese (yum). Along the way we visited the Bay of Pigs memorial at Memorial Park, watched the legendary players at Domino Park (where you must be a Miami-Dade resident and 55+ to play!), and enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere of Old’s Havana. Fun fact: the Cuban sandwich was actually born in Tampa — because mustard and pickles weren’t traditional in Cuba! Of course, we also had to try Cuban croquetas and finish with handcrafted cigars from Clandestino… OF COURSE: I had a Tatiana Rum flavored cigar 😉. Such an unforgettable mix of history, culture, food, and Cuban pride ❤️
