Itinerary
Your journey begins at the majestic Pitti Palace, a sprawling Renaissance residence purchased by the Medici in 1549. Originally built in the 15th century for the Pitti family, this architectural marvel became a symbol of Medici power and wealth.
Guided by an expert, you’ll navigate its most opulent halls, including the renowned Palatine Gallery. This gallery boasts masterpieces by Renaissance legends such as Raphael, Titian, and Caravaggio. Among its treasures, Raphael’s Madonna della Seggiola stands out—a tender portrayal of the Madonna and Child that epitomizes Renaissance artistry. Each room is adorned with intricate frescoes and an overwhelming array of paintings, showcasing the Medici's passion for art and their luxurious taste. The horror vacui aesthetic of the gallery, where every inch is filled with artwork, offers an unforgettable visual feast.
The tour continues to the Boboli Gardens, an exquisite outdoor museum and a masterpiece of Italian garden design. Originally conceived as a Medici retreat, these gardens became the prototype for many European royal gardens, including Versailles. As you wander through this verdant paradise, you’ll encounter iconic landmarks like the whimsical Buontalenti Grotto, the serene Fountain of Neptune, and the grand Amphitheater. Each element of the garden reflects a seamless integration of natural beauty and artistic ingenuity, inviting you to step back into the grandeur of Renaissance Florence.

Pitti Palace, Palatine gallery, is in a space designed to be impressive and imposing. It still is. Breathtaking in many respects. As important as the works displayed is the guide. Ours was quite knowledgeable and able to give interpretive as well as informational help.
Wonderful tour and tour guide. Amazing collection of artwork and a beautiful location with stunning gardens
This was an informative tour. Aurora was very knowledgeable about art and history. She was also very personable. Please note that the Bobili Gardens requires a walk up quite a steep incline
The palace was spectacular and gardens were beautiful. Our tour guide Vincenzo was very knowledgeable and spoke well about the palace and the gardens and surrounding areas. He gave us local insight and provided an excellent service. I wish we could have gone back in the palace to continue walking around but none the less this tour was the highlight of our trip to Florence.
A truly stunning experience. Having an all day ticket means you can stay as long as you want after the official tour is over which was super. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable.
We had an amazing tour! Our guide, Aurora, spoke excellent English and was fantastic at explaining the history of the Medici family, the significance of the museum’s art collection, and the layout and design of the gardens. We got to see incredible original works by Raphael, Caravaggio, and Rubens, which was a true highlight. The views of Florence from the gardens were absolutely breathtaking. We also really enjoyed learning more about the city and the powerful Medici family. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
Our tour guide Deborah was extremely personable and attentive. She had a wealth of knowledge and command of all the Pitti Palace history. She was able to convey background information on the key artefacts and enrich our experience of this astonishing building. There was only two people in our group so we got personalised attention.
Perfect roll through the Palantine Rooms and the main part of the garden. The museum and grounds are massive so a guided tour like this is an excellent sampling. Guide was very knowledgeable and warm - an excellent experience!
Sandra was a wonderful tour guide. Extremely knowledgeable. The Pitti Palace is beautiful with so many amazing pieces of art., and the small group nature of our tour was the perfect setting to appreciate it all.
I loved the experience! Having the opportunity to visit Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens in a single tour was fantastic, as I made the most of my time in the city. Our guide was excellent, and besides sharing the history with great enthusiasm, she also gave us great tips to enjoy our time in Florence.
