Considered one of the most beautiful railway stations in Africa, it was inaugurated in 1916 during the Portuguese colonial period. It served as a strategic link between the port of Maputo and the gold mines of South Africa, making the city an important commercial center in the region. One of the oldest and most authentic markets in the city, opened at the beginning of the 20th century. Here visitors find fresh tropical fruits, spices, fish, seafood, local products and traditional stalls. It is the ideal place to understand the daily life of Maputo residents, the importance of local agriculture and the country's cultural diversity.
Built in the 18th century to protect the city from invasions, it was the first permanent defensive point of what was then Lourenço Marques. It currently functions as a historical museum, preserving cannons, colonial artifacts, and the memory of the city's founding.
Maputo's main craft market, where local artists sell wood carvings, paintings, and traditional products. It allows direct contact with the local culture and economy.
