During this tour we can visit either the northern manta site near the Kona airport, or venture further south to Keauhou depending on where the best manta sightings have been. Our licensed captains and dedicated guides are pulling out all the stops to make sure you get the best viewing possible. Prior swimming & snorkeling experience is required to book this activity. Guest's must be able to independently climb up a vertical boat ladder. Not recommended for guest's who have undergone surgery or have mobility/physical restrictions. Not recommended for pregnant women. Contact tour operator for exceptions. This family run business takes pride in sharing the importance of taking care or our land, ocean, animals, and each other. You must arrive on time for check in time provided by your tour provider, check in time may be up to 40 minutes prior to scheduled tour time.

- Our Manta Policy: Manta Rays are wild animals and Snorkel Big Island cannot guarantee their presence. If a manta ray is not seen on your night out with us you may try again on a different night, or on your next visit. Guests who purchased tickets at our full online booking price may come back out again for free. Tickets Purchased through a 3rd party or at a discounted rate may join again for an additional $60 per person. Please keep in mind that seats may be extremely limited during certain times of the year. We usually are very successful in finding mantas for you; however, if they decide to take the night off the costs involved with setting up the charter will not allow us to offer you a refund. We appreciate your business and understanding of this policy.

Wow seriously the coolest experience ever. The captain and guide were great. It was a short ride to get to the manta rays . We saw about 10 of them! They come so close they almost touch you. Amazing experience!

We went out tonight, Memorial Day 2026, and had a great time. We saw so many manta rays we couldn’t even count! Our guides were very kind and knowledgeable as well and made the experience that much better knowing we were in good hands :)
This is wildlife at its finest. The water is colder then you think even with the wetsuit. Be prepared. It was amazing. Saw a beautiful girl and it was breathtaking to be in the presence of her. The staff was great and fun. It's good seeing young men being a part of their island and teaching outsiders their ways.
The excursion was well organized. Read the directions well on how to get to the meeting place. We saw manta rays from a distance. We were floating on the surface and they were down where the scuba divers lights were. But it was still great. I would recommend this company and activity.
Experienced and well organized staff. We were novices at snorkeling and the staff made it easy and comfortable for us. We saw manta rays as soon as we got in the water. They swam incredibly close to us, even bumping into some of the other guests. An out of this world experience. Fantastic!!
We saw several manta rays almost the whole time we were in the water so super exciting. Definitely worth it.
Night snorkel just as safe as day snorkel. Manta Rey are VERY friendly and get very close to view them, like millimeters from your float position. Shout out to Big Island for making fantastic lifetime memories!
