- Free and reduced admission tickets can only be acquired at the ticket booth on-site. The entrance is free for children under 12 years old, even though they must acquire a ticket in order to get in. For people with disabilities, there is a modified itinerary in the Nasrid Palaces and Generalife and in zones in which it is possible. Wheelchairs are provided for the tours.

The museum is a very good learning experience for anyone that wants to learn the history of the different population groups that inhabited in Spain since many milleniums back to current eras. It is well lighted and the explanations are ckear and easy to understand. Very rewarding experience!

Awesome museum! Wish I could have spent more time there. Several areas are available free of charge (e.g. replica of the cave art at Altamira). Tickets to the permanent exhibits were very reasonable and well worth it. I learned a lot about ancient history of the Iberian peninsula.

I never could get the recordings to work, but all exhibit descriptions were in Spanish and English so I didn’t miss the recording. Received the electronic ticket the night before as promised. Although more expensive than buying a ticket at the museum (no line), I had peace of mind that I had a ticket. Learned it was free over 65 with ID. Excellent museum to learn Spanish human history. No water bottles allowed. They have lockers to store it and other items.

The audio narrative is very good. But it confusing moving around the museum per the Directions provided in the audio. But we are new at this so it was very good once we understood how to follow.

The museum surprised me. Very organized, interesting, excellent especially for those who like history. It is possible to visit on your own or with a guide. Even by visiting on your own you can learn a lot. The bathrooms are very clean and the entry price is quite affordable (3 euros). I highly recommend the visit.

Great exhibits are housed here and the museum is free! I just wish we had alloted more time for our visit. Highly recommended.

The self guided audio tour assumes that you might be more familiar with museum layout than a first time visitor might be so don’t hesitate to start and stop a few times before getting your bearings and listening to narrator. It’s worth the lost 15 minutes in backtracking and restarts.
I really enjoyed this museum. It includes prehistory as well as the historic era. The collection of Greek pottery and Roman mosaics are a highlight. I should have spent more time here as there is much to see.
