If you want to visit Lyon without any hassle, do not hesitate. The card is activated on the first visit. Public transport included. Top guided tour (Old Lyon and the roofs of Fourvière). It is truly the best option that pays off quickly...
Not to mention the descriptions at the stations. Unreliable taxi company.
The staff of the tourist office are very professional, attentive, kind and very good advice.
A good week to discover Lyon in conditions of accommodation and transport rates and very competitive visits.
Welcome and good advice. Do not forget to take a ticket to access an available ticket office. Do not hesitate to buy the City Card (tested at €56 for 3 days) with free access to museums and public transport [activation of the first use pass (museum and bus/metro independently) and not the purchase]. For the record, 1 metro ticket, zone 1, costs €2.30 (the first time because then rechargeable at €2.1).
Here we are in Lyon. What to do? To this question only one answer, go place Bellecour to the tourist office, there you will be greeted by a very friendly hostess who will make a first sort in your wishes and then will assign you a waiting number if she cannot satisfy your request. this wait is not too long, then you pass by a counter where the employee takes his time to propose you activities according to your expectations and make the necessary reservations. It also gives you all the information concerning public transport in Lyon.
Everything was perfect, an advisor answering all our questions and reservations requested.
We booked the City Card on the internet and then picked it up at the tourist information desk. It may not be cheap, but it is absolutely worth the money. Not only the metro use, admission to numerous museums, but also the interesting tour on the Saone (which we then also booked in the tour information ) were included.
This card is absolutely worth the money. We purchased ours directly at the tourist office, where an employee, Enzo, did an excellent job of explaining the card and making two reservations for us. We used the Metro and tram which alone saved a lot of money. Plainly put, this is a great value when touring Lyon.
City card is great value. We got a “buy one get one half price” deal in the run up to Valentine’s Day that made it even more attractive. Without much effort, we easily covered our costs in the first day of our two day card. Overall, we saved about €55 each. We had the cards delivered to our hotel, and they were very efficiently waiting for us when we arrived. We did a bus tour (nice tour, TERRIBLE English commentary that sounded like it was recorded by AI… who on earth calls Lyon “lions”??), three museums, a silk workshop tour, a turn on the big wheel in the square and some metro/tram trips. Easy to do in two days and the card covers most of the main attractions, as well as transport. More cities should do this.
