- Bring warm clothes, a scarf and hat, as the weather in Sapa is unpredictable. It is normally cold in September to March
- Due to the altitude of Sapa, it is sometimes foggy in December, January, February and March
- Trekking shoes, sun glasses, sun cream, insect repellent are also necessary.

We had the most incredible 2 days in Sa Pa, walking through stunning green rice terraced fields and local villages with our guide Trang ( say Tchang) a local young lady full of life and stories to share! Just fantastic!

Taking the long trek option gave us a better experience of the local tribal villages and the surrounding terrain and a way of escaping the tourist hordes. Our guide Chang was an endless source of information along the trek and in the villages. We couldn't have asked for a better guide.
