The pick up was punctual, with new van. The Islam driver, although speaking little English, was helpful and stopped on the way to show us the temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo.

We booked this taxi from Luxor to Aswan with stops at Edgu and Kom Ombo. I had confirmed the timing and the car to be provided with the tour operator prior to starting on Whatsapp. To my surprise the tour operator then sent a mini van instead of the agreed SUV. It was just the two of us and we didn’t need the space or seats and SUV would have been more comfortable for the average roads you have between the places. I brought this up with the tour operator with his response quite frankly rude and patronising claiming he knew what was best for us and the roads. I would have appreciated a heads up for the change or even an apology for the last minute switch but maybe was expecting too much. The journey itself was okay. Edfu temple especially was amazing and something I’d recommend everyone to visit. Driver Muhammad was good. Overall I would suggest trying to find another operator if you can for the route, although in my experience the options were limited, and to not rely on the operators word.

We booked a car and driver to take us from Luxor to Aswan. Driver was on time and manager kindly provided us with drinks and snacks for the journey. We stopped at Edfu and Kom Ombo on the way, and were able to see Egyptian life in the countryside and villages, which you wouldn’t get to see on a cruise.
