Experience a world's famous Luminous Lagoon, where the water glisters at night when it gets touched due to microorganisms living in it. 25 min boat ride along the river with optional swimming after sunset will leave you with unforgettable memories. The tour is accompanied with a a complimentary fruit punch. We support local businesses and this tour will take place from a local cafe not a main entrance where all hotels bring their travellers. Hence our guests would be able to observe local living, engage with community residents and experience more private boat ride. Often the boat would have no people or few extra guests. Please note, cruise price is not included, each traveller going on the boat will be charged $20 USD extra. At this time we operate from Montego Bay only,

Itinerary
A tour will start with a pick-up at any of Montego Bay hotel or vacation rental and continue with a scenic drive along beautiful Caribbean Sea. We visit Lagoon at a very Local place prevating guests from dealing with lines and crowds. Guests will be offered a complimentary drink in a semi-private relaxing environment. Then we will proceed to a boat. We try not to overcrowd the boat and most of our trips occur in a 5-10 people group boat ride. Learn about the history and legends surrounding the lagoon. All guests have an opportunity to swim in these magical waters. At the end of the tour, our guests have an option to try a local cuisine in a nearby restaurant (might be closed due to Covid).The tour will finish with the return transfer to your hotel/airbnb. What to bring: towels, swimwear, professional cameras (it is hard to capture true colours of the water with a phone). Please note, the tour price is from Montego bay only.

The Luminous Lagoon Site Seeing Tour was quite the experience. From the driver, to the other passengers riding down with us everything was a vibe. Once we arrived we were greeted and served complimentary drinks and started the tour shortly after. The tour guide was very friendly, informative and made sure we enjoyed their time out on the water. The luminous lagoon night excursions was really different from the others and was just good energy all around. I was delighted my host invited us out to the excursion it was the definition of a well spent night while in Jamaica.
The service was outstanding! Pick up on time, very comfortable and safe drive to the boat station. I felt very welcomed. Welcome drink was included. Don’t forget waterproof phone case for unforgettable memories😊

Very cool! Wish we had more time swimming but it was a chill and awesome experience! Adrian was very nice and let us know about other places to check out. He is a wonderful guide and made sure we were ok.
I took a tour with love travel Jamaica with Adrian, it was s last minute decision that I do not regret at all! The boat ride was smooth and all the people were lovely. The plancton feels like glowing glitter on your arms. It's magical! Adrian was a great driver and tour guide. Highly recommend!
Very remarkable experience, never seen anything like this before. I would highly recommend to do this activity while your vacation. Needs to bring a towel and water shoes if you plan to swim. They offer the pictures for extra pay so you will need to bring cash. Our guide was amazing and helpful. Thank you for nice memories. Nina and Mark

Hi Jazza, thank you for your review of the Luminous Lagoon Tour. Our staff never asks for tips. However i can't speak about boat operators. I think there is a standard message by all boat captains at the Lagoon saying if you enjoyed a tour, please leave a tip. The tour is not about entertaining but experience one of the nature wonder of observing a phenomenon of bioluminescence.
Our experience was very scary. It was our first night in Jamaica. No one was there to pick us up at pick up time. I had to call, and the owner of Love Travel Jamaica said, “Oh is that tonight?” She then said she would call to get a driver. She called and said Al would be there in about 25 minutes (this is about an hour after the original pick up time). Al came. There were no markings on his car, he did not wear anything indicating he was a driver. We got in the car. He talked to us about his sex life including strangulation during sex and sex with animals. He’s okay with lesbians, but not okay with gay men. Like WTF?!?! So we are driving and driving. Longer than we had anticipated. My friend asked how much longer until we get there. He says like 20 more minutes. We turn down some muddy roads, driving through residential homes, dogs roaming, people wandering around outside their homes. We pull into a rocky, muddy parking lot. No other tourists in site. We are at The Drip Lagoon. It is dark, we are surrounded by locals. The boat looks rickety. There is no other tourists joining us out there. After the uncomfortable conversations on the way there, we did not feel comfortable, bailed on the boat trip, reluctantly got back in the car with Al, because we didn’t have any other option. My window is down, and a man sticks his head in begging for money, which didn’t add to our comfort. Thank goodness we made it back to our hotel all in one piece! We used another company the next day, and it was a complete 180! The other company even arranged a trip the the lagoon for us, and it was nothing at all like we had experienced on the first night! I would not recommend Love Travel Jamaica to anyone.
Honestly all of the pictures advertised of the luminous lagoon are heavily photoshopped and I’m amazed tour/travel companies are getting away which such blatantly misrepresentation of reality. The tour guides and set up is ok but the main issue, and a pretty vital issue at that, is that the lagoon barely lights up and the “luminous lagoon” should be renamed “slightly glimmers if you work your ass off to stir up some activity lagoon”. Admittedly it’s not as catchy but atleast it would be the truth and the lagoon would not be named something which is highly misleading. The best piece of advice is do not waste your time and/or your money. When you go it is so dark (it has to be), that all pictures taken on night mode are fuzzy/blurred so you’ll do well to even get something to remember it by.

We don't have your name on the list and we haven't conducted tours for a while due to the weather conditions and low lagoon glow. It is unfortunate that you put review under the wrong business. If you believe that you did go on a tour with Love Travel Jamaica, please send us a proof and we would be more than happy to refund you for the cruise and your unfortunate experience. Secondly, Lagoon is natural phenomenon and the glow can change depending on several factors. For example, when lagoon gets heavy rains, microorganisms go to the bottom and the glow is hardly seen. The other factor is a full moon. On a day of a full moon, lagoon hardly glows. We monitor all these factors and warn our travellers against visiting lagoon on days it will most likely not glow. In fact, we haven't conducted a single trip in November as almost every day town was getting heavy rains and floods hence impacting lagoon glow. In general, I can assure you, there are many days that lagoon is super bright. you can even see small fishes glowing when passing the boat and it is truly beautiful.
