Lost city amazing

This was an amazing experience. Luis is an incredible guide who does a fantastic job explaining everything in both English and Spanish. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience the real Caribbean side of Colombia. The beaches and other destinations like Minca simply don’t compare to what this tour offers. From the lush, breathtaking scenery to swimming in waterfalls and rivers, every part of the journey feels immersive and unforgettable. The true highlight is visiting the remarkable Tayrona terraces and having the opportunity to meet a leader from the Wiwa community, making the experience even more meaningful. If you’re considering this tour, I highly recommend going with Luis—he truly makes it exceptional.

A high quality guided trek to Teyuna

An excellent experience trek with guide Jose, Translator Daniel. The whole trip was well organised, each hostel had the right facilities and great food from Alexandra! Our trek family of 7 was just right to make friends and have good balance. The chance to see the communities and and learn about the history and present of the area was great. The city itself is amazing and well worth the hike! I particularly loved getting to swim in the river morning and evening and hadn't expected this glorious experience. I always look out and ask about the nature and wildlife and would like more of this on a trek!

Don’t miss the Ciudad Perdida with Jose, Daniel and Alejandra of Magic Tours

The trek to Ciudad Perdida was absolutely amazing - a true highlight of many years of travel! Our Guide (Jose García), our Translator (Daniel Gómez) and our Chef (Alejandra) were -all excellent. Jose was incredibly knowledgeable, knew everyone and everything, and was trusted by the local community in such a way that we never missed any cultural experience (and even met the head of the indigenous community at Ciudad Perdida, who is on the $50k bill). Jose also entertained us with his singing and musical talents, bringing welcome relief across a tough trek. Daniel was a fantastic translator and conversationalist; and gave us very sage advice about the difficulty of each section of the trek, and the options for assistance with your packs (which was key for my husband and I who are in our 50s) - nothing was too hard to organise and nothing was a hassle; he has a very bright future ahead. And the food - Alejandra created a delicious and varied diet across the 4 days, accommodated all food allergies and preferences, and kept us well fueled- the pasta and the hit chips were two highlights amongst many! I offer my highest recommendation of Magic Tours, and my team - José, Daniel and Alejandra!

Without their help, I could not have done this amazing hike!

Our experience with Magic Tours was wonderful and insightful. Our Guide Jose García was super experienced, shared his deep regional knowledge and was obviously respected by all others on the trail. Our Translator Daniel Gómez was kind, energetic and spoke excellent English. Cook Alejandra made sure we were never hungry despite the huge number of calories we must have been burning each day! We highly recommend this guided trek.

Be prepared

A true bucket-list adventure! The Lost City Trek was one of the hardest hikes I've done, with the high humidity making it especially challenging. June is low season for a reason—the daily afternoon downpours turn the trails into mud. One afternoon, we hiked for three hours through a massive storm, with paths becoming creeks and lightning around us. It was honestly quite scary and tough, but also became part of the adventure. The bonus of travelling in low season? Very few tourists. We had the Lost City almost entirely to ourselves, which made the experience even more special. A massive thank you to our guides, Andres, Cristian and Erika. They were supportive, knowledgeable and kept everyone's spirits high throughout the trek. A few tips if you're trekking in June: • Expect to get very wet. • Bring double dry bags or ziplock bags. • Pack long pants for Day 3. • Pack as lightly as possible. • Two sets of hiking clothes are plenty—you'll be soaked within minutes anyway! *I never used a raincoat as it was too humid so dont being one:) A couple of disappointments: there was an expectation to tip, but no guidance on appropriate amounts or the need for small cash. Also, filtered water wasn't always available, meaning we sometimes had to buy bottled water, and even some toilets required payment. For the price of the tour, I feel that drinking water, tips and toilet access should be included. Despite the challenges, this was an unforgettable and incredibly rewarding adventure.

Truly Incredible Experience and Top-Tier Organization

It is not an easy hike, but the splendid nature and history in this unique and special place make it absolutely worth it. Magic Tours and their affiliates provided the perfect framework for this trek, making sure everything was a well thought-through tour with suitable food, provisions and information on the history along the way. Our group of 8 had an amazing team with our guide (José Garcia), our translator (Sebastian), and the cook (Fernando). You could see how well they worked together to ensure we had the best possible experience and they made it fun as well. They provided plenty of snacks and delicious food throughout. Every camp we stayed at had a bit of a different vibe, which was great. The camps are along a river so you will have the option to swim after a long day of hiking! I also really liked how the different tour companies coordinated and talked with each other on the trail, pacing things so we didn’t all arrive and leave the camps at the exact same times. We received deep insights into the indigenous culture and the ecosystem, learning how the people living in the area and nature all play together. Jose and Sebastian gave explanations at the right times, making relevant connections along the trek rather than just lecturing us. You can truly tell that they care about sharing their knowledge about the local communities and focus on bringing respectful tourism to the area. Our group had great chemistry, too. It really felt like a family, all made possible by their genuine care and attention of our guides. The Lost City itself is unlike any place I have seen before and I recommend it to anyone to go. A big thanks to José, Sebastian and Fernando - the best team!

The Lost City is worth the effort of the hike

The view of the Lost City outweighs the medium to hard hike. Our guide Carlos did a fantastic job together with our translator Viktor. Andrea served delicious food in the campsites across the hike.

Fantastic trip. Hard work but lost city is amazing and so worth it.

There were only the two of us with Magaly as our guide. As there were only 11 people across all agencies for the day we shared as a larger group and it worked really well. Such hot humid conditions with very steep climbs but lots of opportunities for buying water etc and fresh fruit provided at times. Certainly not an easy trek but the accommodation was okay, food decent and filling. Not sure what to expect at the lost city itself but is was amazing and so worth it. Guides provided history and met indigenous people on the way. Certainly recommended subject to being aware of the heat and humidity you will encounter.

Amazing experience - thank you Edith

We had a fantastic time on this tour. Our guide, Edith, was great! A really challenging few days in terms of hiking in the heat but the tour ran smoothly, all the food and accomodation was great, and showers at every camp. The lost city was incredible, totally worth it.
