We had an amazing experience at Lipa Cave – definitely a 10/10! Our tour guide, Xenia, was absolutely fantastic. She spoke excellent English, was enthusiastic about her job, and shared the most interesting facts about the cave. You could really tell she loved what she was doing, which made the tour even more enjoyable. The cave itself is breathtakingly beautiful and pleasantly cool, making it the perfect escape from the summer heat. The whole experience, including the train ride, takes about an hour, which felt just right. The drive to the cave is a bit adventurous because of the winding, narrow roads, but it’s not difficult at all – even with a larger car. The café at the meeting point is lovely, and the panoramic view is absolutely stunning. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Montenegro!

Great experience. Is cold inside and for me manageable with full shirt. Driving to this place … watch out.. narrow road so drive slow

The cave itself is really cool and well worth a visit, I’ve never seen anything like it. However our guide was awful. She kept stopping the tour to ask parents to keep their children quiet to the point where it was uncomfortable. There was a very clearly non-verbal autistic child on our tour and she kept singling out his parents asking to keep him quiet. It was incredibly rude, intolerant and I felt so uncomfortable for the parents she kept humiliating. It was so bad another parent ended up asking why she doesn’t do an only adult tour if it bothers her so much. We’re a childless couple and honestly we felt the only disruption to the tour was her, constantly stopping it to tell parents off. I felt like I was in high school again with a grumpy teacher. She so very clearly hates her job and by the end of the tour I’d completely lost interest in anything she was telling us as I was so fed up of her rudeness. Cave is worth it but if you have kids under the age of about 8, I’d probably avoid as it’s not welcoming or family friendly and you will be humiliated in front of about 50 people.

However, we would like to address the situation you mentioned, as safety, clear communication, and a welcoming environment are essential to our tours. Inside a cave environment, guidelines and group management are critical for everyone’s safety and experience. Our guide was simply doing her job by addressing noise levels from certain children in the group. The family of the child you mentioned was wonderful throughout the tour, and they even kindly thanked our guide at the end for her patience and efforts to keep the group organized under challenging circumstances. We want to be clear, there was a child with autism but no disruption was caused by this child or the family you mentioned. Even though there was disruption during the tour, at no point was any specific family or child singled out or targeted by our guide. The guide kept the group safe and organized by following clear guidelines on how to manage such situations. We deeply value creating a welcoming environment for every visitor, regardless of age or individual needs, and we are proud that many families choose to visit Lipa cave each year. We are genuinely sorry that your experience did not reflect this, but our guides must always act in the best interest of the entire group by ensuring that every tour is conducted safely, respectfully, and according to established guidelines. We really enjoyed this visit. The train ride was fun and the cave exceptionally beautiful. Our guide was lovely and very well informed (I’m so sorry I have forgotten your name) . It was well worth a visit. However, I would advise you to get there early as you cannot book in advance as it does get very busy. There isn’t a lot to do there if you have to wait for the next guided tour.

The tour provided all basic information and a lot of fun facts about the cave. The guide was very friendly and funny. Lipa cave is a great place to spend an hour or two and see someting entirely different than the rest of beautiful Montenegro.
