Let's make kimono !(Kimono is a gift for you

Description
In Japan, it is said that less than 5% of people can wear kimono now days. Because it is difficult to wear a kimono by yourself. The problem with vintage kimonos is that Japanese people in the past were small, so the size of kimonos is small. Usually, when wearing a kimono, the part called "Ohashiyori" is folded. By making kimono into two pieces, the folding part has been eliminated and improved so that even tall people can wear vintage kimonos. Kimonos are generally handmade and made of silk, so they are expensive and cannot be purchased affordably. Some of our kimonos are gorgeous and have fine detail which normally cost like thousands of dollars. But with the use of vintage, they are affordable for everyone. Our extra cost for kimono is very easy to distinguish. If you decide to go with no extra charge, you can choose a basic kimono. Why do you make your own kimono? By making the kimono into a two-part style, ANYONE can easily wear a kimono.

The experience was wonderful and the girls were beautiful and kind. The only complaint I have is the prices are not up front. Very basic material is a free kimono, but if you want better quality and pretty prints it can cost you up to 6000 yen more and it is 10000 yen for obi etc
Fun experience but we did have some problems with getting the obi on the next day. We didn’t reach out to the company due to the last min problems and we were already running late. But the kimonos are very pretty
One of the most memorable activities you can find in Japan. Why rent kimono & yukata when you can choose and have something cut to fit you? Look no further because the kind ladies at this wonderful establishment are the experts in choosing the perfect garment! Please add this activity to your vacation schedule you won’t regret it!!!
This was a great fun experience. The ladies spoke English well and guided me through the process. Their expertise in helping me choose pieces resulted in a beautiful kimono. The guys left with nice kimonos too. A quick experience that left enough time to enjoy the rest of the day.
I am so happy we had the opportunity to do this! :)
Our group of four women (all 60+) made a reservation to do this. Based on previous reviews, we were a little worried about making our way on our own so we called a taxi. The taxi dropped us within 20 feet of the house where this takes place. Look carefully and you will see a sign if you are the first appointment of the day. When you first enter, someone will explian the different price levels of the kimonos (basic is included in your price but you can choose a better one.). After that, you ascend some rather steep stairs to work on your kimono. What you do is cut your chosen kimono in two and then use basting tape to iron the edges. After, the workers will help you choose your obi and other accessories. You can buy these for a nominal fee as well. Just a word to the wise, you do not have to cut your kimono in two. One of my friends chose to leave hers in one piece. She plans to have it altered into something once she is home. Two of us decided to upgrade and buy our Obi and other accessories. All in all, we upgraded about $100 USD. Did I have buyers regret? A little but only because I worried about getting it all home with me. They were rather heavy. All in all, it was a delightful experience. If you arrive early, be sure and explore the area. There is a shrine/temple just around the corner. You can also wander over to the river and cross to a busier area. Just be sure and drop a pin so you can find your way back. You won't want to miss this.
Thank you so much for your incredibly thoughtful and detailed review! We’re truly happy to hear that your group enjoyed the experience together and created such special memories in Japan ✨👘 We deeply appreciate you sharing so many helpful details about the experience, the kimono options, the accessories, and even the surrounding neighborhood. Your review will surely help future guests feel more comfortable and prepared. We also loved hearing that one of your friends decided to keep her kimono in one piece for a future redesign — that is such a creative idea! We always want guests to enjoy kimono in a way that fits their own style and preferences. Thank you as well for exploring the local area and appreciating the atmosphere around our small workshop. We’re very happy that the experience became part of a memorable day in Tokyo. Your honesty, warmth, and recommendation truly mean so much to us. Thank you again for visiting us, and we hope to welcome all of you again someday!
If you want your own kimono and don’t know where to start or wish it was easier, this is a must do experience. The staff are super helpful and very kind to say the least! Pick your own kimono (nicer ones cost extra) and cut it in half! This makes it easier to put it on on your own later so you don’t have to be a folding expert. They assist you with hemming the edges of your cut kimono with heat activated tape and an iron, so be aware that for heavy use of your new easy wear kimono you may need to reinforce this later with stitching or updating the adhesive.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review 😊✨ We’re very happy to hear that you enjoyed the experience and the idea of making kimono easier to wear in daily life. Our goal is to help guests continue enjoying kimono even after returning home, in a way that feels approachable and fun 💖 Thank you also for mentioning the hemming process and sharing helpful advice for future wear. We truly appreciate your support and recommendation!
This was definitely an amazing experience for us in Tokyo. The fabrics are all so beautiful. The ladies were so pleasant to work with. We will cherish these kimonos and the memories we made forever!

We had a very enjoyable time and both my husband and I came away with our own beautiful kimonos for our next Japanese evening.

I had such a memorable kimono experience! Getting there took a little effort—one train mishap and an Uber rescue later—but once I arrived, it was actually very easy to find. From the moment I walked in, I loved the intimate setting. The experience felt personal, hands-on, and the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. I honestly wasn’t expecting to actually make my own kimono, so that was such a pleasant surprise. Watching everything come together—and then having the final piece perfectly tailored to my body—was amazing. Of course, we can’t forget the accessories… because who doesn’t love a good styling moment? Everything came together beautifully. The highlight for me was definitely the photoshoot. Aki and Rumí were so patient and made sure I got as many photos as I wanted—which is a big upgrade from my partner, who usually caps me at four 😂 I highly recommend this experience if you’re looking for something fun, elegant, and truly unique. You won’t regret it. And to make it even more special, I walked away with not just a beautiful kimono, but also two wonderful new friends who made the experience even better.
Thank you so much for your incredibly beautiful and heartfelt review 😊✨ We’re truly happy to hear that the experience became such a memorable part of your trip and that you enjoyed creating a kimono tailored just for you 💖 We loved sharing this special time together with you. Aki and Rumi will also be so happy to hear your kind words! We’re especially glad you enjoyed the photoshoot and styling experience—and we completely agree that there’s no such thing as too many photos 😂✨ More than anything, it means so much to us that you left not only with a kimono, but also with happy memories and new friendships. Thank you again for choosing to spend this special moment with us.
