Me and my boyfriend had the best experience taking this class. We were the only ones there and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. Paulo was our instructor and made the experience 10/10. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and funny! This was one of me and my boyfriend’s favorite part of our trip! Couldn’t recommend more!
Great family experience! Palo was a fantastic teacher and a super host. All of the staff were welcoming and friendly. The hotel and the setting is beautiful. Eating our own hand made pasta was delicious and enjoying it in the garden was idyllic. Thank you!
Great family experience! Palo was a fantastic teacher and host. The venue had a lovely atmosphere and eating in the garden was idyllic. All of the staff were welcoming and made our experience a special family activity to remember! Thank you.
Chef treated us like old fiends and was in no hurry to let it end. Charming, professional and super friendly. We would definitely go back if ever in the area for a a class to learn something else.
Absolutely amazing experience. This is the only review I've written for our two week trip. We did 6 other activities through viator, but I had to leave a review for this one. The lunchtime in Menaggio was absolutely perfect. Making the pasta was fun. We made two different "doughs" and then made a few different types of pasta. Paolo was amazing. He was informative, kind, passionate, and funny. The food tasted amazing as well. We of course ate the pasta we made, but the sauces were also very good! Paulo also came and sat with us towards the end of the lunch and he just talked with us for an hour answering questions and telling stories. This experience was a true Italian experience for us that was relaxing and enjoyable. Honestly, I didn't do this only to learn how to make pasta because I can YouTube that. I did this for the experience, and it was absolutely perfect. This was exactly what we needed and hoped it would be. Just like pictures don't ever do an amazing view justice, words can't do this experience justice, but I tried my best. Thank you Paolo!!
This was the most expensive cooking class I have ever experienced, and a total rip off! After they changed our location 3 times, we finally made it to the class. Lake Como is very expensive to get around, and the tour operators should know this. Where we ended up was someone’s kitchen, and our chef wasn’t familiar with it at all. He had already made the sauces, ( Why couldn’t we make them), so it was just a pasta class. There were 9 of us, and he only brought 2 bottles of wine! So much for the wine flowing while you are cooking. We are in Italy for heavens sakes! We made 2 pastas out of the same dough. Not even 2 different recipes. Not enough cutters to go around, only 2 for 9 people. He then had us sit in the dining room while he mixed the sauces with the pasts. One sauce had a few vegetables in it but the other could have been Ragu! All in all we used 2 small bags of flour and 9 eggs! So two bottles of wine, 2 small bags of flour, and 9 eggs! All for a whopping 300 euros per couple. I know eggs have gone up but come on man! The chef and tour company made well over 2000 dollars for this joke of a cooking class in Italy. The only high light was Chef Andrea was very personable. Don’t waste your time or money.
Dear Stacy, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback — we’re sorry to hear the experience didn’t meet your expectations. We would like to clarify a few important points. The location of the class was changed only once, not three times, and this was communicated clearly via message more than a week in advance. In that message, we also gave guests the option to cancel at no charge if the new location was inconvenient. Detailed directions were provided for reaching the venue using public transport, with a ticket cost of €3.20 per person — which we understand you used successfully. Regarding the contents of the class: everything that was provided — from the hands-on pasta-making, the number of recipes, the wine, and the format of the experience — aligns exactly with what is described in the class listing. We strive to be fully transparent about what is included. As for the cost, our pricing reflects the standards of the local market and ensures that everyone involved in delivering the experience — including talented professionals like Chef Andrea — is compensated fairly and can work under good conditions. We believe this is fundamental to offering an experience that is not only enjoyable but sustainable and respectful toward those who provide it. We’re glad you appreciated Chef Andrea’s personality — he’ll be pleased to read your kind words. Finally, we always encourage future guests to read through our many other reviews. They may offer a more complete and balanced picture of the quality of service we work hard to provide every day.
A wonderful class with Palo. He did an excellent job teaching us about the different kinds of pasta and was very helpful as we made it. The lunch in the garden after the class was a perfect setting.
Such a wonderful pasta making experience! This was something we really wanted to do while in Italy and we got so lucky with our experience. We signed up for this class as a group of four and were so surprised when we arrived at the class and were the only people there! Andrea was our instructor and he was fantastic. He was very fun and made the entire process really simple! He chatted with us throughout the entire process and gave us some great recipes to use our pasta making skills in the future and also had some great suggestions for local restaurants and dishes to try, which we really appreciated! He was lovely to chat with and our pasta turned out great! We also got a bottle of wine to go along with our meal :) Definitely a new skill that we will continue to use throughout our lives. Thank you Andrea!! Can’t say enough good things about our time with him. 10/10 recommend this pasta class in Como!!
Andreas was an excellent instructor! Very friendly and the Pasta was delicious. We would absolutely come again for another class.
Paolo gave my wife and I a fantastic experience in Lake Como. The location was beautiful with an authentic Italian feel. We made two varieties of pasta then he served a meal with wine in the garden with a view. It was our first day in Lake Como, and Paolo was able to give us advice on how to spend the remainder of our time. 10/10 would recommend
