Join us in an authentic Japanese-style house for an intimate cooking experience that making you feel like a friend invited over for tea. Why Choose Our Class? Small Groups: Max 6 people per class—perfect and welcoming for solo travelers! 3 popular Sweets: Learn tips and techniques to make 3 different types of Japanese desserts(wagashi) you might recognize from your favorite manga or anime. Take Home Recipes: Get full recipes to recreate these beautiful treats for your friends and family back home. Dietary Friendly: Vegetarian and vegan options are available upon advance request. We have "Seasonal Sweets Class" and "Matcha Sweets Class". Please choose one, and we all make the same sweets in the class. Note: "Matcha Sweets Class" is suitable for adults, as Matcha contains high levels of caffeine. Miho san was a great guide! Apparently I was the only one that booked today so we spoke in Japanese (as I'm practicing my Japanese on this trip) and it was great! I had a lot of fun and enjoyed making the sweets and also seeing the techniques used to make them and the little nuances you don't really find on online recipes. The sweets were also so tasty, I could eat them every day and I'll keep loving them. I recommend this experience to anyone who likes japanese sweets and also to anyone who would like to learn how to make them.
Best mochi class. Our family had an amazing experience. The selection of mochi we made was incredible. Definitely a must do while in Kyoto.

This was a wonderful fun family activity! We were a bit late and our hostess was kind enough to still let us participate. She had us sit and relax with cold water after we have been running and stressed about making it!

We were running late and she took the whole family in to do the class. She didn’t rush even though we ran late getting to the class. The process was fun and easy. Everyone enjoyed themselves and had a different favorite dessert.

We had a wonderful time cooking with Mihoko. My daughter is 10 and Mihoko was very patient and kind with her. The food we made was delicious and we were able to eat it in her lovely house.
